Get early Dead Space 3 demo access on Xbox 360 - download it today

Sign your soul away now, or wait till next week

Looking forward to Dead Space 3? I am, despite a conspicuous recent history of bitching and whining - I'll be heading over to a review event later this week, and have prepared my body for the occasion by watching the entertainingly god-awful animated spin-off, Dead Space: Aftermath.

You could be playing the game even earlier, however. EA is handing out Dead Space 3 demo codes to those who sign up to the Dead Space website.

To do that, of course, you'll need to join the EA Origin service, one of the games industry's many purported Evil Empires. The demo will be generally available on Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday, 22nd January. I'll knock together a list of thrilling activity suggestions in the next few days.

The game itself hits on 8th February in the UK and Europe. Anything you'd like us to focus on in our review?

  1. I still haven't had chance to play the first 2 yet, despite them being on my wish list for a long time. There's so many quality games coming out these days that it's impossible to play them all. Not enough hours in the day!

  2. If you like your horror on the action-heavy side, your environments stuffed with backstory and you're not too bothered by second-hand ideas, the first Dead Space is unmissable.

  3. Totally agree with the first.Stuck with the second one as well but it seems to be missing something from the first.

Got put off with three by the E3 demo. if i am honest.Unless things have significantly changed in the meantime.Haven't really been keeping up with news etc. on it.The E3 demo put me in mind off it being a Gears clone cover shooter now,is that the case ?.

  4. Agreed the first is well worth playing. I thought the second had better, more varied environments but agree it was lacking something, although I really couldn't tell you what. Really not sure about the third as it looks too changed.

Also didn't DS2 have a really bad demo that put a load of people off?

Was that not darkness 2? Anyways same as you guys about the first 2 but I'm looking forward to 3.

Yup, the demo was absolutely awful.

Got bored with 2 to be honest as it was the same mechanic repeated over. Probably means I'll avoid 3.

  7. Maybe it was just me getting a bit bored of the same old same old.Quite near the end got on my tits a bit where you have the constant bad guys in those narrow corridors.Agree some of the enviroments were pretty good.Still not finished it though and have been through one a couple of times.

  8. The demo was not as bad as I expected, it was not scary but Dead Space never has been very scary. The game is near enough the same to play as Dead Space 2 it felt the same control wise and I enjoyed it, the new enemies are varied enough but they all seem to just charge out at you in a blind fury even the ones smart enough to hold a gun just rush you. The gun crafting I found overwhelming and I ended up making a crappy peashooter but the demo gives plenty of options to test out. I enjoyed the other two games in the series so this is another purchase for me having a coop partner should make clearing the hardest difficulty much easier.

  9. Never got my code to download it - bit disappointed.

  10. First game was ok.

Second one however was awesome. It had just the right amount of tension, gore, atmosphere and some of the best lighting effects around.

This demo is also great. I forgot the figuring out of the weapon upgrades but the action is very good and the monster are MASSIVE!

DS3 should be a good game when its launched on 8th February.

  11. The demo was awesome. I actually enjoyed the weapon crafting made some electro rifle combined with a line gun that shot bouncing line racks or something definitely will make it again. The game had the same dead space atmosphere and gameplay. Didn't use the crouch cover system to much and i feel it works naturally into the game i doubt you will be using it to often. Isaac moves very similarly to how he did in dead space 2, have yet to try the demo in co-op but from what i saw the single player seems to be on par with dead space 2. Hopefully the game ends up being better than the second which i loved.

  12. One of the shortcomings of Dead Space 2 for me was a lack of investment in Isaac as a character, he was just a generic hero man. In Dead Space 3 have the developers made Isaac more of an individual and more engaging? If you could address that in the review I would personally be quite pleased.

  13. Just bought the First two, so hopefully those will keep me busy until the release. I won't be signing up for an early access demo though, no amount of temptation will encourage me to join The Great Enemy which of Origin.

Just like the Facebook page, the offer is up on that. You get an e-mail with a code when you click on it.

Dead Space 1 & 2 are two of my favourite games, DS1 was more claustrophobic, horror orientated whilst the second upped the action - not that dis-similar to 'Alien' & 'Aliens' IMO. I'll definately pick up 3 at some point, but not on release day. I'm optimistic, but the introduction of human enemies & focus on co-op makes me a little weary.

  15. I played the demo last night, and i hated it.The graphics are ok,but the weapons feel like they have no weight to them at all, kind of reminded me of resident evil operation rc.Ime not a hater and i will give any game the benefit of the doubt, but this is one game to many for me,i only played the single player, ime going to try co op later today, lets hope that plays better. After playing dmc for the last few days, maybe that has set my bar to high.

Yeah I know thanks, followed on Twitter, member of Origin and Facebook. Tried last night and FB finally gave me the code which works.

    Cheers.
