"LONG.LIVE.A$AP officially comes out January 15th but unofficially has sprung a leak bigger than the Deepwater Horizon spill." Tweet This Quote
Every Friday, we highlight the best (and, sometimes, worst) new music of the week in The Playlist. This week in music: Justin Timberlake returns, A$AP Rocky's debut album leaks and Trinidad James is the next big thing in hip-hop.

??? by Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake
says, “I’m ready.” For what? We’re not completely sure, but rumor has it that JT is returning to music after a long hiatus (The Social Network and marrying Jessica Biel takes a lot out of a guy), with a new album fully produced by Timbaland and a collaboration with Jay-Z and Beyonce. Per the countdown in this new video clip, we’ll know Monday what the former 'N Syncer has been cooking up.

"Superman OG" Rockie Fresh feat. Lunice

Rockie Fresh, 21-year-old signee to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, jumps on a bugged-out beat from TNGHT member Lunice. Definitely not what you would expect from MMG. Rockie’s Electric Highway mixtape drops January 21st.

LONG.LIVE.A$AP by, duh, A$AP Rocky

The title track of A$AP Rocky’s debut album is typical brag rap, but over a lurching beat by heavyweight helmers Jim Jonsin and Rico Love, it’s welcome. Rocky’s LONG.LIVE.A$AP officially comes out January 15th but unofficially has sprung a leak bigger than the Deepwater Horizon spill.

"I’m A Cokeboy Remix" by Chinx Drugz feat. French Montana, Rick Ross and Diddy

If you’re from the Tri-state area, you’ve probably already heard French Montana affiliate Chinx Drugz’s catchy “I’m A Cokeboy.” Now Montana’s bosses, Rick Ross and Diddy, jump on the Harry Fraud-produced number to throw in their respective two cents. Apparently Rick Ross could have been a bus driver. Go figure.

"All Gold Everything" by Trinidad James

The biggest thing in hip-hop right now is a 25-year old who used to work at a men’s boutique in Atlanta. If you happen to live under a rock (or just want to watch this awesome visual for the umpteenth time), here’s Trinidad James in all of his gold-wearing, puppy-cradling finery. The rap neophyte just snagged a record deal with Def Jam Records and dropped his debut mixtape, Don’t Be S.A.F.E., last year. Oh, and Niykee Heaton, aka the “hot girl who makes acoustic rap covers in her bedroom,” has her own rendition of “All Gold Everything,” too.
