This brand new trailer was released on August 27, 2010, for Final Fantasy XIV in the wake of success at Gamescon 2010. It also features award winning singer, Susan Calloway performing the game's official theme song -- 'Answers'.
"Combine the edginess of Pink with the socially conscious lyrics of U2, wrap that in a voice that gracefully explodes like Sarah McLaughlin, yet soothes the soul like Sarah Barailles, and that would be the START of describing Susan Calloway..."

The news about Final Fantasy XIII continues to roll right in. Multiple outlets were invited to the Premiere Party for FFXIII. G4TV did a great job summarizing the big announcement. Weve caught wind of a new commemorative drink, Japanese release date and more.
* The game will be released in Japan on December 17, 2009
* There will be a special PlayStation 3 bundle (more details will be revealed later, but I'd be shocked if a special PS3 wasn't made for this game)
* Suntory will help promote the game with a limited edition drink called Final Fantasy XIII Elixir
* The drinks will come in a collector's edition box and only 30,000 will be available
* The game's title song is called "Kimiga Irukara" and has been recorded by Sayuri Sugawara
A poster over at the IGN boards posted a transcript of an interview with FFXIII producer Yoshinori Kitase. It appears that the size of the Xbox 360s DVD has caused Final Fantasy XIII to be compressed. The reason given for this decision is that so that Square is fair to all platforms.
Could the DVD size limitation affect the development of Final Fantasy 14 if ported to the Xbox? Right now FF14 is a PC/Ps3 exclusive so that seems to rule out downgraded graphics/audio for now. Well bring you more if it develops.
When Final Fantasy moved to PlayStation 2, it only ever appeared on 1 DVD. This meant that unlike previous iterations on the original PlayStation, every area within the game could technically be open at any time. In previous games, some areas appeared on some discs, and were closed off in others. The same can even be said for games such as Lost Odyssey on the Xbox 360, due to the space constraints of the DVD, the majority of side-quests appeared on the final disc. Final Fantasy XIII will be affected in the same way.
The first financial update from Square Enix since their acquisition of Eidos has been released. For the period ending June 30th their sales wee down 1.2 percent. That might seem like a bit of a downer but things actually looked a lot better for their games division which reported an increase of 7.2 percent. Reasons cited in several reports included rising FFXI subscriptions and exclusive games like Kingdom Hearts.
Square enix is set to report again at the beginning of November. Can we expect an increase? More than likely considering their latest Japanese blockbuster Dragon Quest 9 has sold more than three million copies since release this summer.
Square Enix president Yoichi Wada has made an announcement regarding the release date for Final Fantasy 13. Hold your breath because that announcement is that... they will announce the Japanese release date for FF13 in just a couple of weeks. Oh those jokers at Square Always teasing us.
The Tokyo Game Show is just a few weeks away so were expecting details then. With the Noth American release is scheduled sometime in 2010, dont expect many details for those on this side of the pacific. To keep fans appetite whet were sure there will at least be a new trailer.
As soon as more details are revealed on FF13 or 14 we will make sure to have them here for you!

Here are answers to two common questions we've received regarding the recently announced equipment for "A Crystalline Prophecy."
Q: I have a single account containing multiple characters, and would like to outfit all of them with this equipment. Will I need to purchase a separate registration code for each character?
A: No. A single registration code will allow you to acquire one reward item for each character on your account. (Provided, of course, that you complete the scenario with each character individually.)
Q: It says that I can add two additional attributes of my choice, but what happens if I change my mind about which effects I want later on? What if I decide that I want one of the other two items instead?
A: Provided that you discard the item in your possession, and meet the conditions necessary to receive the reward, it is possible to re-acquire the item as many times as you wish.
Further details about the unique qualities of these new items will be posted in the coming days, so stay tuned!

Development Begins on Real-time Strategy Game SUPREME COMMANDER 2
LOS ANGELES (November 12, 2008) Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive entertainment products in North America (Square Enix), and development house Gas Powered Games Corp., (Gas Powered Games) announced today that they have formed a strategic partnership. With the commencement of this strategic partnership, development has begun on SUPREME COMMANDER 2, a sequel to the award-winning real-time strategy series.
Tokyo-headquartered developer and publisher Square Enix is building a new studio in Los Angeles (El Segundo) that is working on an action-oriented game based for an original IP.
According to the career section of the Final Fantasy company's U.S. site, it is seeking to fill several positions for the new location, including the roles of Xbox 360 software engineer, product manager, 3D artist, and more.
No doubt, this will be a dream job for some. Square Enix is looking for a localizer to, as the job listing explains, "edit and proofread in-game text and voice scripts for large-scale video game projects," "copy-edit promotional materials, manuals, and various sell text," and "work with translation staff to ensure style consistency across multiple titles."
Though the position is based in Tokyo, Japanese language proficiency is not a requirement but an obvious plus. Here's the kicker: Square Enix is asking applicants to submit resumes and an imaginative essay:
