Just a quick revisit here.
I listened to the Atelier Totori soundtrack before the game had even come to the US. Yeah, I'm just that hip. Importers unite, yada yada, etc etc.
In that review, I expressed my extreme pleasure with Kazuki Yanagawa, who was learning not only to fit the paradigm laid by Ken Nakagawa, Daisuke Achiwa, and Akira Tsuchiya, but to push the envelope and try new things. Yanagawa certainly did that with Rorona, but with mixed results. In Totori, we saw a lot more finesse, and ultimately a soundtrack that ranks up there with other Atelier greats (such as Viorate and Iris).
Now as for this disc, it's the condensed single-disc release from NIS America. They chose all the right tracks and packed this one disc with plenty of audio (75 minutes, running right to the outer limits of the medium). Good stuff. I'm happy with having bought the limited edition version of the game, even if I already had the import release. I was able to gift this single-disc version to a friend, and I think it was a gift well-received. Gust Sound Team: the gift that keeps on giving. Also, NIS America and their endless supply of bonus stuff. Gotta love it.
And that's all I have to say about that.
