Well...this music is strange to say the least. If you're looking for ethereal ambience...or maybe some loud scary music, this is the CD for you. I don't know much about the Baroque RPG itself...Though after looking through the artwork, I wish I had the opportunity to play the game. It looks...unique, if nothing else.

There are whole tracks on here with not a musical note (such as track 5), but others are very musical (such as track 6). There's a lot of techno-influence in this CD, and it's all very random. Very little of it compares with the actual name Baroque (referring to the musical styles from 1600-1700 AD). This music (if you want to call it that) is most definitely modern, almost like abstract impressionism.

Yeah, this music is definitely scary. It could be a movie score to any independent film with an X-Files storyline and "pi" cinematography style. How I wish I could play this extremely weird game. While it scares, it also fascinates and intrigues my mind. It's not a good idea to listen to this while you try to sleep: unless you like to have nightmares. I'd have to say the scariest track is track 8, "Little". It makes me feel like I'm playing Silent Hill and I just beat up a little ghost-kid in the school and now something's after me. Yes, this is most definitely a haunting CD.

Though, there is still some not-as-haunting-musically-inclined music; a prime example of this would be "Multiplex", which is simply an awesome song (though every track past Multiplex is really good...). The vocals, the strange synths, the ambient "booming" noises...I feel like playing a Myst/Riven game when I hear this track. Hold Baroque Inside is another awesome song.

That's about it. This CD used to be an easy find at Otaku.com, but it has since disappeared and is now more difficult to find. Be sure to check out the samples before buying.
