John P. Hussey Reviews Contributor
After graduating from Syracuse University in 2003, with a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism & English, I received an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Kentucky in 2004. While pursuing a Ph.D. at UK, I began working in the book industry and have been doing it ever since. My day job is as a Marketing Director for a publishing house.
My love of RPGs can be traced all the way back to seeing one of my brother's friends introduce me to Phantasy Star II one snowy New Year's Eve. After seeing Parom and Palom turn to stone in Final Fantasy IV, my love deepened, and that passion has been a part of my life ever since. Even though Western RPGs have reinvented the formula that I hold so dear, RPGs continue to challenge my mind and patience to this day. While I wish more RPGs incorporated lost traditions like a world map, puzzles, and classic turn-based action, the modern RPG continues to entertain. Without question, I am the most old school reviewer on staff, and I tend to review titles that align themselves to the 90s gaming era. I've loved my time at RPGFan and hope to be here as long as the site is green.
