If you're a Dragon Quest fan, you're most likely currently playing through (or already have beaten) the latest release Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen on your DS. I have one question: Did you like the soundtrack for that game? If your answer is yes, then this live recording should be a treat no fan can go without.

This soundtrack, performed by the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, is a great way to experience live Dragon Quest music for those not able to go to one of the concerts. It has all the classic series staples, from the rousing overture to the calming menuet. If you have ever played a single Dragon Quest game, they will sound familiar. You don't have to play through Dragon Quest IV to appreciate this fine music. The sound quality is actually better than the game it's based on because it isn't being limited by the hardware. Each drum beat and blasting trumpet sounds absolutely fantastic.

There's not really a whole lot else that can be said about this soundtrack. If you like Dragon Quest music, it's a definite buy. If you don't like Dragon Quest music (you monster!) then this won't be changing your mind. If you haven't ever played a Dragon Quest game before, then after you check out some of our samples, go try out one of these fine games!
