I've been an RPG brat since I was twelve, after completing Phantasy Star II on the Genesis over a decade ago. I've been a gamer since I was old enough to throw a controller at the screen and blame it on my younger brother; namely since the age of 7. I'm an avid anime and gaming collector, having experienced just about every gaming revolution since the Coleco Vision. My whole collection would probably fetch me a king's ransom on Ebay, but some memories and games are priceless. I think i'm the one of the few gamers on staff who still owns a Turboduo and plays it regularly. While i'm pretty much a fan of many more mainstream genres, RPGs have always been by favorite due to their longevity and storytelling.
In current years, I've been seduced by the MMORPG harlot, having ran guilds in Anarchy Online and more recently, Final Fantasy XI. I still find the time to play more than a healthy share of console RPGs, but not as many as I used to thanks to my job. By profession, i'm an RN who works in a critical care setting. Even though I carry the title of "RPGFan's Warlord" on our forums - i'm a really nice guy, I swear. As a gamer, I'm a firm believer in being truthful about an RPG, no matter how much glitz and advertising dollars a company throws at a game. I also don't expect everyone to agree with my views.
I started writing as a reviewer at RPGFan over two years ago; and for over a year, I had the honor of serving as Chief Previews Editor after Damian's retirement. Even though I've recently ended that tenure to find more time for my other site duties, namely RPGFan business and industry relations, I've had the time to return to my love of loves: gaming. While keeping the site fiscally sound, as well as being the conduit between the industry and our staff, can be time consuming - I still find time to keep up with the latest RPGs to keep my trademark epic review-writing skills honed.
I can say my time here at RPGFan has always been memorable, sometimes stressful and never boring. I truly beleive we have one of the most dedicated and talented staff of ANY online gaming publication. If half of our contemporaries were as emotionally invested as the crew, I think trashy game writers would be an endangered species. Much love to the boys and girls of past and present who have helped make RPGFan the great place it is today. We could have never made it this far without each of your contributions. Cheers!
