Pokémon: The Missingno TracksPokémon Diamond Version

Silly me, I thought the mix title was missing an apostrophe until Larry educated me... true story. This nice, crackly, old-timey saxophone-led Missingno ballad from ProtoDome conjures up a feeling of warmth & homecoming. Blake writes:

"Made this ages back now but was convinced to sub it. It's for the project. 'Nuff said. BTW, don't be hating on Pokémon. You don't liek Mukipz? Will and halc do and they'll freakin' bust you up, BIG TIME."

No idea what any of that even MEANS... but sure, I agree! Gated, pitch-bent pads are a nice touch on the intro, and drums range from slower RnB to more of a double-time, DnB feel, which is a cool changeup that's so seamless it comes off completely natural. The whole arrangement has a lighter-than-air, floaty sort of bitterwseet nostalgia to it, consisting of an elixir that's one part wax cylinder piano & buttery, flowing sax and one part modern, space-age drums + synths, melding past & future into a short but well-defined track. Sometimes there's a lot to say, but sometimes a few sentences sum it up best, and the only thing left to do is enjoy. Great stuff from ProtoDome, who brought his A game for Missingno and showed variety, depth, AND emotion.

I really don't think anything else needs to be said, cause that kinda describes this ReMix perfectly. Wonderful sax and light melody. A little short, but I think that's part of the charm. Also, great track title. Pokemon themes are fun to mess with for titles.

No, you may not have this Swords Dance so don't even think about it! I get the image of a relatively lighthearted scene with a slow dance. The mix starts off a bit strangely, but when the sax hits, the song rolls like butter. There is a bit of chippiness used in the background for a nice touch as well. The song gets a little strange in the second half as well. All in all, solid stuff from Blake, and even the strange bits add a nice touch to the song.

Wow, I'm blown away by this simple-but-emotive mix. This is some of the most expressive sax playing I've heard on an OC Remix for sure. It's electron-infused Kenny G.

No lie, definitely my favorite song on the album. This is an amazing source tune, and the sax playing gives this thing more love than I could have imagined. I can just imagine two pokemon in Sepia tone, dancing the night away to an old record player. Great production and attention to detail, smooth flow and a spectacular arrangement supported by a superb lead performance.

Great work, man.

Yeah! This title is amazing XD
I'm just gonna piggyback on top of what Will and halc said (because they're gonna BUST ME UP if I don't agree with them) and say that this should have gotten a floodpost, it's by far Proto's best mix from the project and it's probably my all-time favorite Pokemon mix and my favorite Proto mix. SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS TRACK <3

100% agreed with everything in this post. :D

The original Canalave City theme was my favorite from D/P/Pt (as in I'd deliberately go there to hatch all my eggs and run so the bike music didn't play). That said, to hear a ProtoDome arrangement of theme is honestly simply breathtaking.
Now get to work on Frosty Frolics GBA you Protocrastinator >:D

Whaaaaa? I thought this one already got posted when the album came out.
It just seemed kind of obvious. You know, awesome source, awesome remix, awesome title...
