Been a while since I posted something so might as well tell you if I still live...

 

                         

Sad that that wasn't an actual attraction in Nintendo Land, it would of been funny. Anyway, I've been playing Nintendo Land and like I said before, it's really fun. All of the attractions are cool, especially the Zelda, Metroid, and F-Zero ones. Also it's a sad day in gaming when the motion controls for Battle Quest work much much much better than some especific Wii game *cough Skyward Sword cough*

The Metroid game is well, a blast. The controls work very smooth, it's like how it could work if they made a new Metroid, but in a 3D world in a 3rd person perspective. Sure you don't have all the controls and weapons from a traditional Metroid game but the ones they provide you get the job done nicely.

F-Zero on the other hand isn't hard, on your first try. If you manage to go through all the 12 areas, a new much harder challenge unlocks and trust me, it get's insane, well not really but it's much more harder. As far as all the Wii U games I played, this one has it's own achievement system, called Stamps. It doesn't show you how to get them but the clue lies in their names. Not sure if other games will have them though, but would be neat. Also, I've added 3 people here from 1up on my Wii U friends list, haven't played any games with them yet but maybe someday. If you see Mii, say hi to me on Miiverse!

 

I'm still addicted to this game, well I'm pretty sure my brother is way more addictive than I am. He's a pro at this game, he once went online to race people, and the number 1 player happened to join the race, well my brother happened to beat the guy. No kidding, that had to be one of the most intense and epic moments I have ever seen, well on this game. The guy left after that race and dropped to number 2. Still I was amazed at my brother's skills in that game. Speaking of which, it's his birthday today, so happy bday bro, have an awesome day. We might play some Sonic later so if anyone wants to join, let me know.

As for the game itself, it's still awesome, sure if you bump the difficulty to S-Class, that's when the computer players try to make you their bitch. I like a challenge but for less innexperienced players, this might be hard cause the game steps it up even in B-Class. So "hardcore" gamers, if you want a hard game, well here it is.

Still amazed at the new Pokemon games, I still don't know which version I'll get and I really don't know which starter I'll go with this time. It's been a while since I chose a fire starter, since gen 1 and 2 actually, maybe I'll go with that one but I may wait till I hear more of the game. Still, even if I don't get any other game this year, Pokemon X or Y will be my main priority to get. I'll make it my mission this year and I know I'll be addicted to it for a long time. I'll make it clear: this is the reason you and I bought a 3DS for in the first place. It has been that way for me from the start, and it wont change anytime soon.

I'm loving Mirror's Edge so far, I love the idea of a first-person platformer. Also it gives you the option to use a gun to take out your enemies. I have chosen the non-gun approach even if it seems harder. It's been working fine for me so far, and I think I beat chapter 8. Gonna see if I can finish it tonigh or sometime next week.

This guy made this art of the Pokemon Center using the Unreal engine. It looks awesome, but it looks like something out of Mass Effect, not that it's a bad thing, but Nintendo and Game Freak would never do it. Still, pretty cool.

Going to my doc this tuesday like I do every year. Please, pray for me or hope that everything goes well.

Pokemon X and Y

A while back I made a blog about what games I was looking forward to this year, and the thing I was looking forward to the most was actually not a game, but an announcement. It could of been many things and I was thinking of different possibilities of what kind of pokemon game it was. It was either the 3rd Gen remakes that people for some reason seem to want, a pokemon spin-off, or the rumor that it'll be a huge game with all the 4 previous regions remade. Then I thought, Game Freak wouldn't do that, since they make more money on each game seperate anyway.

One possible thing I did think of was maybe a new gen, but that seemed farfetched to me since Gen V is kinda still new, well Black and White was out in japan in 2010, but still. Then Game Freak did just that, a totally new game or games, for the 3DS. How are they? You be the judge:

                     

 

If you were to ask me if I was excited for this, then the answer would be Absofuckinglutely. I don't think I've ever been excited for a pokemon game this much, I mean look at it, it looks amazing. The pokemon look like they are in 3D, but yet have the vibe of how they've always looked but have a cartoony quality to them, almost cel-shaded, that and the pokemon look fully animated. And the world, it looks almost like how it did previously but better. I also can't wait for the new battle enhancements, since this is the portion of the games that gets you hooked. That and the new pokemon. All in all, I can't wait for this game, this is already my most wanted game of 2013, and with any luck, my GOTY for 2013. Captain N's 13 games of 2013

First off, Happy New Year and stuff. The year just started and it looks to be another great year for games, even though some of the games coming out this year are actually games that got delayed last year. I don't mind the delays, as long as they are using that extra time to refine and polish the game the I'm up for it. Besides, we all know what happens when you rush a game out to retail. One of the things that gaming has taught me over the years is that patience is a virtue but you'll be rewarded for waiting, and I have grown much more patient over the years. That's not to say I'm looking forward to any new games, I am but like last year, I'm not sure if I'll be able to purchase them all, atleast at launch. Here are the 13 games I'm looking forward to this year in no particular order, well except the Nintendo ones...

 

I like the Uncharted games, I really do, well 2 but I had fun with the 3 games I played from the series. The Last of Us looks like it's going to be a really good game and I'm really interested in the enviroment, I mean look at the city and stuff. It looks like how the world from Enslaved looked like plus it looks like it plays different than the Uncharted games. Not sure if I'll get this at day 1 but I'm excited to try it.

 

I don't even know why I'm putting the Tomb Raider reboot here, I never even played any game from the series. But it's a platformer which means I must try it because I love platformers. Plus from what I've read, it seems like a game I have to try. I have Tomb Raider Underworld and I've had it for almost 2 years but haven't played it yet, now might be a good time to do so. That and the Tomb Raider CE looks nice, I'll atleast add another figure to my collection.

 

I heard that this game takes place after MGS4 and I haven't played that, last time I was still playing MGS3 and I should finish that up soon. I'll most likely wont get this one at launch because I'll have to get MGS4 first but I really like what they are doing with the gameplay stuff. I just wonder if it'll meet fans expectations.

 

I never seen the Aliens movies, not sure why but horror isn't really my thing, not because I'm scared but because those kind of movies just don't interest me. This game however does. Gearbox is working on it and they said it's going to be awesome, just like every dev says about their game. They did say that the Wii U version will be the best of the versions they are working on. That bit of info is enough for me, besides I could use more Wii U games. Speaking of Wii U games...

 

 

I remember trying out a demo disc for Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii and did rather enjoy it but I never actually bought the game. Capcom is bringing the game to the Wii U but not sure if it's the same one from before or a different game. I wanna give it another shot because I have a feeling I may like it. Plus you can continue your adventure on the 3DS, that is just screaming local play with my brother right there.

 

Everyone knows what game this screenshot is from and no doubt this game is on everyones must haves of 2013 and will get a ton of awards. GTA V was a game I wasn't interested in, after what I heard from GTA lV but after I heard about taking place in Los Angelse, my interest grew. It wasn't until I saw some screenshots that I become more and more interested in the game. I want to see the detail of the city, a reason I got L.A. Noire in the first place. And from what I've seen, it looks just like L.A. because that park in that pic looks just like the park I used to go to.

 

 

Is this a screenshot from the next Batman game? Nope this is a pic from the new game called Injustice: Gods Among Us, it's a fighting game made by the guys who made the current Mortal Kombat game. Only this time it has DC characters. I think this game might be good and I'm not just saying that because I'm a huge Batman fan, but it looks like it's going to be good judging from the trailers. I just can't decide if I should get it for the PS3 or Wii U.

 

 

I haven't played Castlevania since the one on the SNES, I've been meaning to buy the DS games but everytime I try to get one, I buy something else. This time I wanna give the new 3DS one a shot, if not this time I'll try to play the DS ones, I hope.

 

A new rpg by Square-Enix if I remember right. It was a hit in japan but not sure if it was in Europe, but hey, it's a new rpg and the 3DS could use more rpgs. That and the collectors edition of this looks too tempting to pass up. I just hope it makes it to our shores.

 

I'm a stranger to the Fire Emblem games, I have a GBA one thanks to being a 3DS Ambassador but I haven't played it. All I know about it is thanks to Smash Bros, I know who Marth is, I know who Roy is, and I know who Ike is. What I don't know is how the games are, I should probably try out the one I have to see if this series is for me, if not why bother?

 

My brother is most likely going to get this but I'll be playing it when he's done. This series has been M.I.A. since the Gamecube and rereleases don't count. Originally a Wii game, Miyamoto just scrapped it to the Wii U because he liked the visuals. I do like the way the game looks, it looks really nice and I heard that the game might be similar to the first one. As in having the 30 day limit, I just hope he knows what he's doing because people might want to check this game out after trying the Nintendo Land attraction based on the franchise.

 

I love the Animal Crossing games, I loved the DS one but I give the first one an edge only because it had classic games you could play. I never played the Wii one but with the new 3DS one coming out soon I doubt I will. I've heard of all the new things you could do in New Leaf, they are adding alot of new stuff, I just hope it has enough stuff to continue to support this series. What am I saying, if no new pokemon games comes out, this will be my handheld addiction. Oh wait...

 

I never played the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, I did play Explorers of Darkness and I did enjoy it even though it was a bit unforgiving at times. I like what I know about the new one so far, and one of the reasons I'm looking forward to it is because me and my brother may each get a copy to play some local multiplayer missions, the game just got easier or could get harder. That and Game Freak has finally decided to make a pokemon game for the 3DS, sure it wasn't the one I expected but I feel they are just testing the waters for an actual pokemon game. That and they wouldn't just make 3D POkemon models for just a spin-off which brings me to this next one...

 

Yes I know, another Pokemon thing on this blog but I'm just too into these games for not to care. The official site is teasing something big for the franchise on January 8, and there was some news reccently about Game Freak teasing that the series will evolve this year. Could this be what they were talking about? Either way, I am excited and am curious to know what this announcement is. Though it will suck if it's something underwhelming.

 

That's everything I'm looking forward to this year, not sure if I'll be able to get all these games, I'll most likely get the 3DS and Wii U ones but I'll be buying games I missed out on last year.
