Welcome to the 1up Gaming Purchase Thread for the month of January 2013!  please post your January gaming purchases here.  Also post real pictures and not shitty stock google images no one wants to see that shit, we'd rather see 2 megapixel garbage cel phone cam pics over google stock images!  Feel free to discuss upcoming purchases but please refrain from listing off what you've picked up, nobody enjoys reading list threads in this thread.  As always a big thanks to our regulars _Liquidus_ , Krae_man, Duhbeyuh, CA_Zh666, Ashibaka, Projectrunaway, Nit3, Somebum15, Ryan-ts, UltramanJ, Falz, Old School Gamer, Hippie_Genocide, SlaughterX, Simba1983, RoylAsult, Yakityyakblah, RunningWithGuns and Thain82 as well as all our new posters to this thread.

Its hard to believe all of the holiday madness is over, here we are at the beginning of another year of gaming with a strong spring lineup just around the corner, for now I'm sure most of us got alot to play over Christmas, here are a few more of my purchases.

At $20.00 brand new at BestBuy/ Future Shop I couldnt resist, NHL 13 is actually pretty brilliant and has some of the most significant changes I've seen in years to the series.

Couldn't resist at $9.99 per season, still one of my fav shows despite being all wrapped up.

Finally I got this as a late Christmas present, ended up buying The Walking Dead with it, so addicted to this game absolutely worth it!!

Probably won't get anything this month.  My bank account is still crying after the holidays.  DMC and Ni No Kuni seem like good buys though.

So hyped for Ni No Kuni, I went out and bought a bunch of similar games for the 360.

I'll probably be one of two or three folks posting my Ni no Kuni Wizard's Edition on this board.

@RunningWithGuns: I bought Eternal Sonata not too long ago myself, only I got the PS3 version instead of the 360 version.

Ni no Kuni and Anarchy Reigns are the only games that matter this month.

@San_Andreas: Good, I can't wait to see those editions. I'll be just getting the Gamestop one.

I was in the one retro game store in my area, Jake Street Video Games, looking for Dark Cloud 2 and came across Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land. I played it once and found it old school difficult, but I thought I ought to own it again since there are so few Wizardry branded games out there and so few first person turn-based rpgs. It still has the manual and it wasn't expensive at $18.

That's pretty neat. Do you have Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls on PS3?

@San_Andreas: Yes I do. That game beat my ass pretty hard too. Something about losing hours of gameplay when you die that makes me rage quit. I'll go back to it one day though.

I've been on a real frenzy of game hunting this week. I've been trying to track down all the Level-5 games I don't already have. I managed to get three of the four Professor Layton games on DS in the box, but after a dozen or so GameStops, I got fed up and just got loose carts for Professor Layton and the Curious Village ($12), Dragon Quest IX ($12), and Jeanne d'Arc ($5). I still have to get Dark Cloud 2, but I'll have to use my Amazon gift card for that one.

There's the 3DS Layton game and Crimson Shroud in the 3DS eShop I'll have to get those once I pick up a 3DS XL next month.

Level5CollectionRaw

And oh yea. I've played Unwound Future, but I wanted to own it. I rented it a while back just to try out. It was amazing, and I don't even like puzzle games. Damn game made me cry too.

My wife went out and bought this for me while I was at work. Sorry about the bad picture quality.

Couldn't resist picking up White Knight Chronicles II. I was going for the first one, but II includes a polished up version of the first one, so I got that. I played the demo for WKC a while back and couldn't get the battle system to work for me. I think I'll give it another shot.

Aside from Crimson Shroud on Nintendo's e-shop and the 3DS Layton game, I now have all the Level-5 games except for Dark Cloud 2.

I own them on Wii already, but Mega Man 9 and 10 are free on PS+ right now, so I got those.

Also downloaded the God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta. Which already has a goddamn half gig update. The fuck.

Last night I decided I was gonna download a couple things off the Nintendo 3DS store, I got Ghost & Goblins, Kirby's Adventure, noticed they had the Mystical Ninja for gameboy and might consider getting Megaman as well.

The GoW: Ascenscion MP Beta is garbage.  The balancing is way off and gets boring after a while.  I come in 1st and 2nd usually but GoW doesn't need mp at all.

It's basically a really shitty Power Stone.

I picked up Anarachy Reigns and pre-ordered DmC (Vergil DLC) and Ni No Kuni (Steelbook) at Gamestop.  Dude there hooked me up with the Bayonetta DLC even though I didn't preorder Anarchy Reigns.  So it's like only 1% of Gamestop employees aren't dicks.

These games sat next to I-War, Battlezone 2 and Rollercoaster Tycoon - I have this suspicion the gamestop guys are as fed up with new and modern games as I am.

my main problems is the block and aim, the aim sticks when you want to move the camera and the block is on the slow side. but that's the only problem. The music is bloody awesome, the title and main menu music is ace!

I don't even really block.  I just use it so I can roll away and then start a combo.  It also helps to roll away since it'll dodge a 360 attack.  Best mode in the game is Mad Survival.  Sucks that it's only preorder only since alot more people would be playing it if it wasn't.

Anarchy Reigns is basically a multiplayer version of MadWorld.
