Mass Effect Trilogy Update
PS3 version gets a date, and more clarification on included DLC (or a lack thereof).
11.01.12 - 10:16 PM

When the Mass Effect Trilogy was announced a little over a month ago, there was a bit of a mixed reaction: So soon after Mass Effect 3? What about DLC? PlayStation 3 owners at least, had reason to rejoice, since it means they can finally get their hands on the first game in the series - which was originally published for PC and Xbox 360 by Microsoft (before EA had bought Bioware).

In a blog post, external producer Ryan Warden confirmed that the PS3 version of the trilogy will release on December 4th in North America (7th in Europe), about a month after the Xbox 360 and PC version (November 6th in North America/November 9th in Europe). As predicted, the PS3 version will come with the Cerberus Network pass and the on-disc DLC for Mass Effect 2 that the original had come with, which only excludes Arrival. Mass Effect will include Bring Down The Sky but not Pinnacle Station (don't worry PS3 users - you're really not missing much), while Mass Effect 3 will have an online pass. As well, Mass Effect will be available as a standalone game on PSN on the same day the trilogy releases for PS3.
