Final Fantasy XIV Servers To Go Offline In November
Plus a final character data save, all in preparation for A Realm Reborn.

Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy XIV as we currently know it will take all its worlds offline at midnight (Pacific) on November 11th - in just under two weeks. To prepare for the shutdown - and eventually, for the MMORPG's relaunch as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Square will conduct the final character data save this week, on October 31st between 2:00 and 10:00 PM Pacific. The character data will, of course, be transferred to A Realm Reborn.

The first of four alpha test phases also begin today, and you can apply here.

Square Enix also gave fans a look at the new character creation system in A Realm Reborn. You can watch the 11-minute clip below (note the footage is from its alpha build), and you'll also find a few screens recently added to our gallery below.
