E3 2012: Mass Effect 3 Coming to Wii UBetter late than never!06.05.12 - 8:48 PM
During Nintendo's press conference this morning, the company ran a (too) brief montage of upcoming third party Wii U titles. Among the non-RPGs that we knew about such as
Assassin's Creed III and
Darksiders II was a quick peek at
Mass Effect 3.
Nothing more was said about BioWare's title, and based on information released from Nintendo thus far, we don't know what Wii U functionalities the game will support, or how it will utilize the Wii U Gamepad's capabilities. Nor do we know if the Wii U version will include any of the downloadable content that's available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC editions.
One thing that we do hope is that Mass Effect 3 will include a primer or some form of backstory for its predecessors, much like the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2 did (the first Mass Effect wasn't released for Sony's console).
For now, we just know that Mass Effect 3 for Wii U is due later this year, but you'll know more when we do!
