Video Review - Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

The audio on this review is terrible...like he recorded it in his bathroom or something. The quality on Gamespot has gone down a lot lately for some reason.

Ended up getting the Wii U version, just because I wanted to get another launch game.  It makes me wonder what GS will give the Wii U version, because it has serious frame rate issues.  

Was the audio recorded in an underground dwelling of some sort?

The recording is horrible.

I played the first Epic Mickey and I do not recall it being as bad as the reviewer sad, it felt overall smooth to play. The camera was a little weird that was about it.  I have a feeling they didn't get paid off enough for a better review or whoever played the game for the review just sucks at playing games. Hopefully a patch can fix this game. 

I'll give a 5.0 on the audio of this review.

To think they couldn't solve some very basic gameplay problems with the sequel. What a major disappointment. 

Warren Spector needs to pull his shit together and get back to what he was doing before, you know, classic like Deus Ex? Dafuq is that? Is he in some sort of mid-life crisis? It hurts me seeing genius dev like Warren ending with games of this calibre. :(

I still want this game, but I'm afraid it's no longer 60 dollar worthy.  I had it preorder ,but I guess I'll have to swap it for something else now.

They could have easily fixed the camera issues by simply adding a lock-on function.

I was really looking forward to this game.  I guess I'll wait until it hits the bargain bin 

as usual people badmouth the review. the art style looks beautiful but the ridiculous camera angles and the emphasis on 3d platforming (ugh) in spite of ridiculous camera angles is a game-breaking feature. the hitboxes are bad and that little bitch is annoying as hell. this game sucks but it's really bad that it sucks. this is a game that's so beautiful you want to love it but it gives you too many reasons to the contrary.

@ Tom McShea - Seriously is it that bad? It looks like you went out of your way to make the game look worse than it is by playing it like a little girl. I generally like what you have to say on quoted for truth but this is genuinely the first time I've come away from one of your reviews thinking that you were hateful towards the game for no reason other than Disney isn't in bed with CBS/CNET. Sorry if I'm objectively wrong here but I think what I saw and heard (the way you played and what you said) was in direct contrast to what my own years of experience with video games tell me. I may have some personal bias as a fan of Warren Spector, but don't you even think that the children it's clearly designed to entertain would disagree with you? My assumption is the kids that have played polished platformers by the likes of Nintendo wouldn't even rate it that low! I love you guys at GS but this review just seems unnecessarily focused on being bitter about things that have long been technical issues in games, and not on highlighting any of the games merits. Whereas Halo 4 gets a 9 from Watters and he can barely justify why as it's pretty much more of the same stuff from 10 years ago. Peace

Was anything learned from the first game?

I would imagine Tom McShea would destroy a room full of Mickey Mouse memorabilia like a football player. How embarressing!

Too bad... I hoped this game would turn out much better.

As a side note, the audio on this video is a little, rough. Don't know what went wrong but sound levels are all over. maybe take a look at that guys? I only say that because its not the first time in the last couple of months where I've been watching a video on gamespot and the audios been all over.

Bad game play aside it does have a very nice charm artistically in my opinion.

I don't understand why developers insist on using very narrow FOVs. that's what makes precise jumping so hard.

5.0 for a game of the legendary Warren Spector =O sad times...

I kinda thought the demo was pretty good but jeez, Having Oswald help you jump across gaps is a chore in and of itself but IDK, to me everything else seemed to work okay. I'll wait a bit for it to drop in price before getting it.

this kind of trash should've stayed on Wii. This just shows how Wii has its own low standards. the first comes on Wii alone and scores decently. The sequel also comes on hd twins and scores a nice lol but if it was on wii alone it would've score high enough because for its low standards its *good*.
