Carolyn Petit takes the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham City out for a brawl.
Okay seriously who reviewed this???????? :)
at least it's not a bad version.... I don't think that power charge thing sounds that bad

E.g. ?! Thanks.
graphics look tight
8.5? Not sure. I mean just how many games, as good as Batman: Arkham City, are available now for the Wii U. The B.A.T. may not be the best addition ever, but the gameplay (and the story, and the voice acting, and the enviroment, and the extra content, and everything else that is good in this game) is as good as ever so I think it deserved a 9.0 as well.
avatarIVN You have to consider that this game is the GOTY edition of a 2011 game with a few tacked on features that do nothing significant to improve gameplay, plus the fact that it is $60 while the PS3/360 version of GOTY edition retails at $40 and even less on PC. Great game still, but not the best version nor the best deal out there, hence the minimal downgrade in the score.
What about the frame-rate issues?
Carolyn, is this new armor edition making the game worst, I mean that the original game has a score of 9 and this one of 8.5.
I'm conflicted with knocking the B.A.T. addition. I guess it could make things "too easy", but that's more of a minor gripe, seeing how most of the game revolves around stealth, exploration, nostalgia, godly voice actors, so on and so forth. It's understandable, but...eh...
"There's no reason to buy access to this version, if You have others." Why? I did not receive an answer. Okay, she did mention, that B.A.T. and sonar does not make any sense... What about the controlls? Are there any touch screen options controlling main characters or just button smashing? What about flying with the batarang? Do they make use of the second screen on the gaming pad?
As I see, this was half a review from the game for other consoles and only half for the Wii U, since I am still having a lot of questions unanswered...
This guy's voice is annoying as hell... sounds like he's holding his nose while speaking
bgghgubcjhgknjk Dude, that's just Carolyn. That's how she sounds like, as she had been for a long, long time. You are going to have to learn to put up with that, sooner or later.
bgghgubcjhgknjk So rude!
bgghgubcjhgknjk It's a Girl you Pylon.
bgghgubcjhgknjk Also I had a bit of a cold when recording this one so I sound even more like that than usual!
This B.A.T looks like something out of a Joel Schumacher movie.
I don't really see how you can knock B.A.T., considering it's an optional feature.
JustPlainLucas You can't turn it off. It's optional in the sense that doing Mike Haggar's special move in Final Fight is optional. You can use it or not use it, but you always know you can rely on it in the heat of battle; you always know you can activate it if things aren't going your way. It's part of the fabric of the game, and as such, is, I think, something that can and *should* be evaluated as part of what Armored Edition is.
carolynmichelle What about the loading time? I saw Kevin VanOrd saying that Darksiders II and Mass Effect 3 have longer loading times in the Wii U than in other consoles. Batman have the same issue?
carolynmichelle Yes, but that's up to the gamer. If people love continuing to rack up 30 and 40 and 50 hit combos, they aren't going to use B.A.T. For other people out there who may not be as good, B.A.T. will be a blessing.
JustPlainLucas I am with you, but I also know that some others would see the B.A.T. system as a crutch that compensates for lack of skill on the part of the player, and consider this as a detriment to the game as it somehow insults more skilled players.
Gelugon_baat JustPlainLucas I think it'd be a handy feature to use against more annoying enemies such as stun sticks, armour and shield enemies because they just break the nice flow the combat has when you accidentally go towards them and get hit by whatever they have
bgghgubcjhgknjk I acknowledge that - but you may want to know that another person, other than I, will just say that you suck at the game, conveniently enough.
carolynmichelle It looks terrible. Is it possible to remove the skin (if not the gameplay) and use one of the classic skins available?
