Killing Day still alive?

New Ubisoft trademark application suggests long-dormant shooter could still see release.

Rumors of Killing Day's death may be exaggerated. A new Ubisoft trademark application for the game (spotted by PlayStationLifestyle) suggests the publisher may be keen to revive it.

Killing Day was announced at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo, but its existence to date has been limited to just one trailer (below). This trailer indicated the game would be a flashy first-person shooter featuring a tattooed gangster.

No release date was ever given to Killing Day, and its death seemed apparent until Ubisoft filed an additional trademark application for it in May 2009. The latest trademark application for Killing Day was filed earlier this month on January 4.

A Ubisoft representative was not immediately available to comment.

If there's actually this level of destructibility, I'd play it.

looks like this game uses the classic auto-aim system of perfect dark and goldeneye. I hope this comes out!

I sure hope I get to play as a tattooed Billy Bob Thornton-lookalike, lol.

Don't get me wrong, but at the time, 2005, when I first watched this trailer, I was amazed with the details of the environment destruction, the marble statue, all pretty good for the time, It's a shame that now it's just one more FPS !

Lose the 1st-person perspective and maybe it will be able to differentiate itself a bit from every other FPS out there.

The perspective won't make a difference. The game would have to be a first person GTA or something to grab my attention.

@fillup0 I liked the idea, a first person GTA is what I was looking for, I mean, I love open world games, and Skyrim was the only RPG I loved because it's 1st person, so, if I could play something like FARCRY 3 but with a taste of Just Cause 2 or GTA I would love that !

@SavoyPrime Then it won't be able to differentiate it's self from ever other TPS out there

@MJ12-Conspiracy Actually, It was very hyped at the time due to it's advanced graphics and environment destruction, but now, it would be just another shooter !
