I'm loving this game so far. I played it for about 3 hours this morning before going to work. The combat is slower than past DMCs but is still fun as hell. People need to loosen up and give it a chance....you know, without thinking too much of the older games. Rent it.
Did the commenters here even saw/read the review?
It answered the complaints for difficulty other stuff in it!
Best DmC so far, after fnishing this new one i went back and played the DMC HD collection and DMC 4 and missed this one so bad.
For anyone saying the previous ones were better and bitching about the hair of Dante i sugest doing the same as i did, after completing this one.
I wasn't expecting this one to be so good, gameplay is one of the most fun i have played in a hack and slash game(yes even better than GoW to me and i love GoW), the art style is amazing and it grows on you, the characters have more consistence and depth to them, the story is well put together and the cinematics are just too cool, also the soundtrack fits perfectly with the ambience.
Also for those bitching about THE HAIR:

Dante's hair gradually turns white as the game progresses and by the end of it Dante's hair turns completly white, and you have the option of playing the game from beggining with that costume if you so much desire.
I love how the majority of the bitching is because Dante has a new hairstyle. Are you idiots masturbating to Dante's hair or what for it to be that important.
@HIT3kNology It's not the f*cking hair, LOL. It's the slow garbage controls, dumbed down combat, junk physics and bad lighting.
C'mon, putting the High Time on a single button press so just any dipsh*t can pick up the controls and launch an enemy? DMC is supposed to be difficult for newcomers. That's how they develop MAD SKILLZ.

This version of DmC doesn't have a "bright future" ahead of it. Capcom just let them make this crap because they're working on the next real DMC for the next generation. They authorized this junk so they can make a triumphant comeback on the 720 and PS4 with a DMC that is MADE IN JAPAN where it's supposed to be... LOL!

Thinking on giving this game a try on the PC when it's released. Although I wish I could have Bayonetta 2 for PC.
@Ledah You most definitely should.......don't listen to all the fanboys, they know nothing.......I'm on mission 15 and so far I am in NO way displeased......Great reinvention of the series

So, the new Dante is an unabashed nudist... what ev. The gameplay looks tight but after all the insanity that was Bayonetta it does seem a little tame nonetheless. Wb Dante.
@Shouoken4Peace The gameplay "looks" good until you actually play it. Have you not tried the demo, yet? Play the demo first before you buy it. It plays like sh*t.

Looks great. I never had a problem with this new version in the first place though. Gonna pick this one up for sure.

Awkward intro aside, game looks good enough.
Did any of the DMC games have a glove you could power up and do combos with? I know there was a hack and slash game I played in the early 2000's that had that but can't remember which one.

@blastmaster2k2 Yes.There were the Ifrit gloves in DMC 1, Beowulf gauntlets in DMC 3 and Gilgamesh in DMC 4.
The game looks simply great. It seems that its history is set before DMC3: Dante's Awakening, being this game the first one in the time line of the series, but not sure about that yet. Dante is very different here, better than on DMC3 for me, but not even close to his versions from DMC 2, 4 and 1. By watching this video, I can say that it looks better than DMC3 for me, but not better than DMC 1 and 4. At least, Dante is very less teen, silly and idiot here than on DMC 3, and I think this good. I'll buy this game for sure.
Looks freaking great, all the old DMC fanboys need to stop crying already you did this with DMC 3 and again with this reboot get over it already.
@LazyGamerX Pretty sure you're thinking of Devil May Cry 2 which was and still is a disappointing game. The 3rd game was great though.
Dudes, you always make the same mistake. You never take into consideration the hard design work. You did this with AC3, and some other titles, and now with DMC. It's almost like a fat ungracious kid review.

Can't wait till to tomorrow to get this!!!!The combos are easier to pull off compared to the old dmc games from playing the demo a crap load of times. But if you've got the combos from at least DMC4 down you can go into that blissfull SSS state easier than in the other DMC games.
it is kind of sad that the game isnt in a fantasy seting anymore, the real life apocaliptic setting is really shit for me :(

please. stop with the bitching. i don't get how you can refuse to play the game, even after the demo was released. and lets be honest. this new dante still looks and sounds more badass than nero.
@CivilizedPsycho They want to cater to minorities I guess, idk, they usually don't have any money so it doesn't make sense, just trying to be too PC most likely.

I refuse to like this game. Changing Dante and the rest of the game the way they did, in my opinion, is the same as changing Solid Snake and the rest of MGS. IT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Yet it did in this case. Shame on you Capcom & Ninja Theory for ruining one of my all time favourite & beloved franchises. Will not buy and will not rent. It's a matter of principle for me.
