wii u will be a decent console, despite looking like an external floppy disk drive from a forgotten time in gaming, it will be decent. but to be honest the only good looking game comming out for it is zombi, and announcement wise, they're working on a darker more adult zelda, you'll be paying £300 for the option to play the games ur current console can already play, maaaybe at a higher frame rate etc, most of the wii exsclusives are crapanease kiddie wink bouncy squeaking mushroom mateys going wiiwiiwiwiwiwiwi etc.
So again the realismbots stike.

@gudni Have fun with the Wii U! I never buy a console until a decent library of games is built but hey if you have the money and can't wait any longer go ahead!
tbh ive never been a nintendo fan but the wii u raises the bar.....i hope sony and microsoft are watching. This totally changes the way you play.
One last thing, i'm not sure why Nintendo did not opt for a DX11 gpu..even low end, as the Wii U wil be using a DX10.
fyi: The X360 and PS3 both use dx9 only, and the current high end pc gpu's use DX11.
The Wii U sucess will rely heavily on it's controller feature, as you can be sure the next consoles from MS/Sony will be using more Ram/more current gpu's w/DX11 and can run top engine's in 1080p.
btw: Sony's rumor of it's PS4 can handle 4K HDTV's is bs, as only a sli/crossfire pc setup, can handle those visuals. Unless Sony is set to release a $800 console in late 2013, that is not possible. MS rumor of a crossfire dual setup, would handle 1080p at 60fps, and they can do so with using lower cost gpu's. (ie-->/2 GTX560 Ti's)

PhilipO45 Sony and Nintendo wouldn't use DirectX. They may use GPUs that can support DirectX equivalents, but if they were to use DirectX they'd have to license it from Microsoft.

DirectX is a microsoft thing. Only xbox and windows pc use it.
Whining about the wiiu gpu being only capable of dx10 is stupid. This is not a pc, you cant put that gpu in your pc.

They list every gpu possible, so it's good to compare to the X360's and PS3's(Nvidia 7800).

In a nutshell:
-WiiU's GPU has a bit more then 2X the power in it's GPU then the Xbox360/Ps3's gpu's.
-Add in 2X the total Ram as well.
So expect 720p with higher settings for cross-platform games, and 1080p for only the simplist of graphic engines.
One thing Nintendo has not mentioned is that if it's one gpu that powers both the main visuals and the controller visuals, or does the controller have it's own gpu?
(btw: I have a WiiU on pre-order for it's exclusives, just like the other consoles. For cross platform games i go with the pc version, as i can max them out in 1080p @ 60fps. Trust me, it won't be easy for MS/Sony to cramp the cpu/gpu needed inside a small console unit, as it will be costly and run very..very hot))

whats the point that wiiU is better than xbox 360 and ps3?when ps4 and xbox 720 is coming out !! yeah it was the same about wii and this generarion xox and ps but wii was something new i bought it and played it for 2 weeks and haven't touched it since and this game pad is cool but people can use tablets to play games and next generation tablets will defenetly reach xbox and ps3 it would be so better if nintendo would give a next generation consol instead of this i lost all hope in nintendo :((

Multi-player on the GamePad looks interesting, how many pads would it support? Can you imagine a LAN game via GamePad's instead of a multi-console hook up. Now that would be interesting!

I find the Nintendos console to be fine. Well, I do have one complaint and that is, that there is no glow ring on the system. I will miss that feature.
For this systems future I am expecting developers to start bringing MMOs to WiiU.
im curious to how playing the gamepad will be, but i'll definitely pickup a "classic controller" or whatever the dual analog stick one is called just in case. the co-op functionality is pretty though having one on gamepad and other on tv

wcwj26 What exactly classifies this version as a port? It's gonna be released just a few days after the ps3 and xbox 360 versions and works fine just like them. It's a regular release just like AC 3. Batman for the Wii U is a port, although I consider that version the best one. Cod BO 2 for the Wii U seems like a normal release title to me.
