FIFA fan here... watched this until 0:46 and saw Ozil walk through Pique... I was done. PES you still suck.

@icybl00d3d Yeah, I can't believe the reviewer didn't say anything about that aspect & I don't think any1 can miss that, they actually showed that gameplay again towards the end. It ruins the play cause he sneaks the ball between his legs & just runs through him to get to the ball... whaaaaa! That is just unacceptable.

Does anyone know the name of the song/artist that starts playing @ 1:03?

@solutiontp pro evo is the way to go, much better than fifa, i went back to it last year and now i can't stand fifa.  the game modes are far more in depth then fifa imo.  BAL is much better, master league feels more realistic (apart from starting with a bunch of no names!)

Had my girl friend help me decide with his years demos (she doesn't watch or play the games either) played fifa first, then pro evo - and she said pro evo looked better and played like a real game on the tele! cant argue with a neutral!

I"ve seen the exact same goal pass by 4 times in this video. It's an improvement indeed, but it's also stuck on so many levels, like the reviewer says. I also agree with @milan4554 I'm positive FIFA13 will this round again. I know what I'm buying. FIFA's demo is such a new experience (yet again), while the PES demo (I've played both the one with Portugal as well as the MCU/RMA demo) still falls short in my opinion. PES needs to go into complete overhaul territory before they can truly compete again. A great game, no doubt, but no competition to FIFA, I'm afraid.

Konami develops better games in these genre RPG/Stealth action, third-person shooter,Interactive movie. i stop playing PES since 2004. will it still fun when i played the PES 13 Demo. i dont think it can compete with FIFA13

I was a PES fan since 2008. Then i changed to FIFA for 4 years and this year I wanted to give PES a try. PES 2013 is a great game and I mean it. In many ways it is better than FIFA, something that I didnt expect. If only the player animations were better, I wouldn't hesitate to say that it is better than FIFA.

Is it just me or is PES always less realistic than FIFA? It seems like it is too easy to pass in this game

I think this is a very positive review for a outdated game, who needs a new engine and not just better graphics. You need to compare this game to fifa, wich, looking at the pes review, will be a 10/10 game.

game has it good points but still miles off fifa, afraid i moved over to fifa after fifa 10, used to be a big fan of pes but since it came onto ps3/xbox360 the engine has been a mess, the game needed a engine overhaul years ago which is why its not in the same league ....ps

@TudoRapid  Oh really? So what does a car engine do? Does it have anything to do with the aesthetic of a car? Please, everyone knows what game engine is supposed to mean. It has to do with the rendering, the animations, the sound, the AI, etc. And PES game engine IS outdated or else they wouldn't be announcing, for a long time now, that the next PES would have a new game engine. They just know this one doesn't cut it anymore and that FIFA has them beat. Look at the amount of people saying that they were PES fans until FIFA 10 came out. It's true, i was also a huge PES fan, but EA Sports just came out with a better product.

Good for PES fans. Will be getting this on PC, so much easier to mod the kits than the console versions. Anticipating FIFA 13 too. Demo was fantastic :) No need to call other people retards or stupid just because they don't like what you are playing people.

FIFA a simulation? GTFO. None of these games are close to being a simulation. Both have broken stamina/fatigue systems. Both have fundamental issues, such as in passing. But I prefer the unpredictability of PES. FIFA is a pick-up-and-play game, easy to hook it up in your console and play it straight away. PES has a steep learning curve. There are too many things that you have to learn, such as timing and also controls which in my opinion is not great because it limits your audience. It is easier to exploit PES than FIFA but play it like real football and it rewards you more than FIFA has ever done. In FIFA, while it is a very good game and I have pre-ordered it, every goal looks the same, there are certain angles when you shoot it gives 100% goals with finesse shot, among other gameplay issues.

TLDR, I haven't bought PES since 2010 but I have got PES 2013 now because I think a lot of problems of previous PES titles have been fixed (while there are also still quite a few issues with the game but I can live with it). FIFA, I always buy it because it is a blast to play.

@danyjr Although being a FIFA fan I have to admit that it shouldn't be that effortlessly accessible - or that FLUID - to play. Before being a fan of one game or another I am a football fan in the first place. 2 good football games instead of one? the more the merrier.

I haven't played PES since that one titled "Winning Eleven PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2007" !!!

I still have it installed on my PC since 2007 with 3 different Master League saves of entirely different user created teams, each of which has more than 10 seasons each!

When PES 2011 came out at first I thought it is this series glorious come back, but I grew tired of its broken controls and animations. When PES 2012 came out I thought: This is it, but I was once again disappointed. I could however see the potential of this direction in remaking the series and improvements it its infrastructure and that has finally paid off with PES 2013. It finally managed to return to its roots.

Although I'm very impressed by the advancements and creative ideas being put into FIFA since 2010, and although always being impressed by its installments year after year, I've always felt there's something missing.

I don't think that the gameplay should be that on-the-go (I did NOT say it is EASY), or may be the players shouldn't feel that fluid. May be what it's missing is that each player should behave differently when controlled. To me I can't tell the difference between players when they're all that fluid and easy to maneuver.

(Damn.. if I could only deliver my thoughts to the developers!)

boundtoramble
boundtoramble like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 2 Like

@marshalmathers2  @danyjr FIFA is the one that has the unpredictability factor. One of the big reasons is the ball physics. The ball really behaves like a ball, unlike in PES which kinda feels like it's in some kind of magnetic field and when you shoot it it just goes straight, it feels more like a rock being thrown.

As for the difference between each player, it is more nuanced in FIFA, which is the way it should be. It doesn't make sense that some players turn like slugs the way they do in PES. Realistically no professional athlete is that inept.

marshalmathers2

 @boundtoramble  @danyjr

God forbid NO! Not like PES players. I hope FIFA never come to something as stupid as that.

What I mean is: We need more variation.. wider DISTINCTIVE spectrum in bodily movements and the way players behave.

About unpredictability and ball physics, I totally agree with you. Especially ball physics in FIFA 13.. Just wow!

Another thing FIFA has mastered is the passing system. If anyone just gave a little thinking to what it's called, they'll figure out what does it entail.. "Pinpong Passing".

I used to buy every new version of this game that came out from the start and some of the ISS games to. I gave up buying after 2008. And looking at this review, it doesn't seem to have changed at all! Its sad, I miss those classic days..
