  • The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University is the premier graduate video game education program in the United States. The program offers a master’s degree in interactive technology and a graduate certification. The Guildhall at SMU has graduated over 400 students who work for more than 140 of the world’s leading video game companies. The purpose of the school is to prepare artists, level designers and programmers for the video game industry. Many of the school’s advisers and founders are industry icons. In addition, industry veterans make up the faculty. At The Guildhall at SMU, our curriculum is focused around a team approach and interdisciplinary thought and action. The curriculum is set up so that there are three different skill sets working on a game. One person alone cannot program, design and develop the original concept art for a game, it takes a team-centric environment, and that is the stringent equation that we adhere to. While working in teams, our students have the opportunity to take on lead and supporting roles. Our students will learn traditionally as well as through self expression and exploration.
