This Game Engineer will be involved in many technical areas critical to our company's success. They will work with a team of engineers to develop and maintain production pipeline and facial animation systems, and tools for creating 3D game content. They will be involved in pushing the envelope of new technologies that make production life easier and more scalable. This person will also write software and communicate with production teams when the need arises. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in shaping our game production process.
Responsibilities:

  • Work in a development team to design and implement in-house tools and infrastructure
  • To create and maintain key systems and technologies for game production
  • Help to build and guide the direction of next generation facial animation systems
  • Work with artists and riggers to come up with elegant, user friendly solutions
  • Identify possible issues and provide practical alternatives/solutions

Experience Requiredtop

  • At least 5 years of experience developing tools to support animation or game/movie content creation
  • Strong 3D math skills
  • Experience with motion capture
  • Experience with computer vision problems and algorithms.
  • Excellent knowledge of debugging
  • Fluency in at least C++ and Python especially the Maya API
  • Implemented facial animation systems and/or rigging, blendshapes, bones, skinning or deformations
  • Experience with at least one major 3D animation application API; preferably Maya
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Highly-motivated, with a strong work ethic
  • Have a service-oriented attitude and knack for developing efficient and elegant solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a passion for technology
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Game engine experience is a major plus
  • Experience working in a commercial software development environment
  • Perforce knowledge
  • Git knowledge
  • Java/Scala
  • Knowledge of servers and web technologies
  • Knowledge of facility infrastructure methodologies and RPC
