Former Taipei Assassins member forms new League of Legends team
Sister team of LoL Season 2 champions will be called Taipei Snipers; team will be under same management.
A new sister team to the League of Legends Season 2 world championship victors, the Taipei Assassins, has just been unveiled.
According to the Taipei Assassin's official site (via Gosu Gamer), the team is called the Taipei Snipers and will be led by former Taipei Assassins member and leader MiSTakE. This is due to the fact that the team felt that their overall performance was beginning to slip after their victory in the LoL Season 2 tournament.
Next to MiSTakE, whose role is the team's support, the Taipei Snipers' roster consists of Zonda (top laner), OhReal (jungler), NeXAbc (AP carry), and GodJJ (AD carry). Replacing MiSTakE's position in the Taipei Assassins is Hong-Wei 'Dinter' Xue. The new leader is a member named ToyZ.

Lol, never understood morons who have no interest in a story coming to the comments section of a story and saying that they have no interest in the story. Worse still are the ones who declare that because THEY have no interest in a story, "no one" has any interest in the same story. That's quite a large logic gap there, kids. It's pretty simple: if you have no interest in something, then move along.
But as for LoL: it is currently the biggest game on the internet by a wide margin. If you think there's no interest in it, then you've either been living under a rock or aren't particularly competent at interpreting statistics. If you are either the latter or the former, this infographic should make things a bit easier for you (it has nice shiny easy to understand graphs and even some pictures!): http://majorleagueoflegends.s3.amazonaws.com/lol_infographic.png
1 group.2 teams.2x the chance of winning the money.Clever.
Not a big LoL fan to be honest, but I like their team picture. At least they aren't trying to look so badass like the other hilariously sad team photos you see online.
why LoL, show me dota2 news.
wtf why does everyone think this is a Korean team??? lol seriously guys...
MotRFalcon maybe because azubu frost uses blue jersey color way that is why :3 ?
Cool, a team from North Korea!

For all the people not interested in this news at all, I think you better check your watches for you have been out of some of the most important events in the e-sports evolution of the last few years.
RIOT has actually managed to create a league( no pun intended ) with paid teams and paid athletes for anyone who can prove to be good enough at this game. This new League they've created generates a LOAD of money which is used to pay the athletes and the main events which unfold around the world.
This might be the push we needed to profissionalise and to bring to the mainstream the E-Sports as a true medium which can gathers fan's and followers in the likes of any other sport. This team(or ex-team) was a very powerfull and "rich"(in the sense that a E-Sports team can be rich) team. They had a very relevant name to the fan's and the sponsors.
The fact that they changed and have a new name has to be publicized. Its like "Manchester United" changed names to "Manchester All Now" and mixed their squad with the squad of M City. (for my football friends) Or the Patriots are now called "We Like the USA" and joined with the Packers. (for my american football friends)
Peace
theDrekey I think you better check your watches for you have been out of some of the most important events in the e-sports evolution of the last few years.
Nah its ok, we're all fully aware of the e-sports evolution, but seriously, no-one gives a crap, not on a gaming website anyway, people who want MLG news, goto MLG sites, not gamespot for their news.
I know there is a very small user base here that enjoy this coverage but compared to the actual number of people that use the site, no-one reads this crap, or if they do, it is only just like myself here, to read it and go, "are they still seriously putting this drivel on here".
The comments are clear on most MLG articles, it sucks, most gamers think it sucks, for crying out loud, STOP CALLING THEM ATHLETES, they are not. By definition an Athlete must be ATHLETIC. You can be a pro gamer and still be 300lb, I know they "stay in shape so their minds work right" and all that old carp but at the end of the day, so do I just to get on with my normal life, I go to the gym, I am by no means an athlete.
Athlete, lmfao. Even pro gamer is a stretch, they're professional at gaming because they can play one game well, bring them round mine for a game of Mario Kart, then we'll see who the pro gamer is, lol.
And lastly, NO-ONE GIVES A CRAP GAMESPOT, you tried, seriously, its not exactly been much of a success, stop covering this crap.
GriffinBalls theDrekey " no-one gives a crap, not on a gaming website anyway,"
gaming on a gaming site yeah no one wants that.....
hector530 GriffinBalls theDrekey If that's your logic, then maybe they should make an article on how I just made a Tribes Ascend team. I'm sure everyone would care, since it deals with gaming, right?
Tribesmaster hector530 GriffinBalls That's not my logic. With all due respect and to all we know, your Tribes Ascend team is not relevant at all to the development of gaming as a medium.
ESPN would not have an article on my little league's kid's school team, cause they are not relevant, They do have an whole section on the Buffalo Bills.. because they are relevante for the sport. Its a matter of relevance for the subject at hand.
This LoL teams are sort of relevant 'cause they can give E-sports some exposure and bring in some moneys.
theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls I was talking to hector about his "it's gaming, therefor its news" logic. Just like 90% of the people here, I really don't care about professional gamers. News like this may be important to people who are into this type of stuff, but it's not important as gaming news, therefor this article is completely unnecessary, and doesn't belong on Gamespot.
theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls Therefore*
Tribesmaster theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls The number of people that care on gamespot is currently small, but it's a growing minority so this is very relevant whether you like it or not. You'll be seeing more of this over time especially when their competition IGN has created its own very successful gaming league IPL.
And stop crying about technicalities such as "oh this isnt' a sport" and "they're not athletes" in the end pro-gamers along with pro-hockey players and pro-basketball players etc are nothing more than entertainers.
shock_88 Tribesmaster theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls I am a huge fan of LoL itself but even i do not understand the logic behind posting articles like this when this is hardly news in the LoL community itself Not to mention other news like this such as the banning of a said "pro player". Even after that i have to question why only LoL and why not (as some other ppl have mentioned) dota 2 or any other moba
Ahmedleghari Tribesmaster theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls If you're not interested in the professional LoL scene that's fine but I'm pretty sure many in the LoL community do care about this stuff that's why the official website has a dedicated forum for e-sports.
As for why only LoL and not other games, you can go to twitch.tv to get an idea of how many people keep track of tournaments and watching pro gamers stream LoL compared to other games. Also Riot just puts a ton of money into their game and e-sports to make sure it continues to grow and attract professionals to pick LoL over other mobas.
shock_88 theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls My god, I hate when people say crap like "it's entertainment, therefore it's the same". No, it's not, and pro gamers will never be on the same level as athletes, ever. Athletes spend their entire life to become a professional. They participate in charities, they are a huge part of their community, they put their bodies on the line, and have to be in top mental and physical shape to do what they do. I get you want to glorify pro gamers, and make them look all bad ass like they are true athletes, but they are not. You can look at it as black and white as you want, but comparing pro gamers to pro athletes just because they "entertain" is laughable. To you athletes they may just be "nothing more than entertainers" but in reality, they are much more. Especially much more than pro gamers, as much as you would like to think otherwise.
Tribesmaster theDrekey hector530 GriffinBalls I don't know what you mean by same level are we talking about social status? Money? If that's it then obviously they're not at the same level but i don't consider any of that relevant because e-sports will gain all that with time.
Also you are comparing athletes in a sports that has had almost a century or more, to develop to a much newer concept that is e-sports. How about you compare a current e-sports player to an NHL player in the 1920's when the league was first created as an example. Both instances they played because they loved what they did, they loved competition, and they loved to entertain while doing what they loved. That is why I consider them the same and as a spectator their actual job is simply to entertain. Neither made much money out of playing and neither really had a big fan base and neither were really considered an important part of their community at their respective time. Yet they both worked just as hard as the other at what they did.
And pro gamers put just as much time into their work as a pro athlete to say one works harder than another is just wrong. Also I don't think either athletes or pro gamers deserve "glory" athletes and all entertainers in our society are overpaid and it'll probably happen to pro gamers too.
...okay?
Seriously? Since when is information about obscure members of teams from LoL gaming news?
How much is Riot paying you?
Plastic people.
eointhey are not korean
Nice to see that they are smiling...make's a change from the usual sour faced teams.
"Taiper Snipers" -- Heh. The girl ain't so bad though, assuming that ain't all photoshop.
They did a great job at covering up all their acne.
cola!!
It must have been a slow day in the gaming world today...
I'm all for news that maybe not everyone is interested in but seriously, who cares?
Thanks Jonathan .
That is what I thought professional gamers would look like. lol Yamahama it's fright night.
