A Different Way to Campaign - Community Challenge!

Hey folks, if you’ve been visiting Waypoint recently, you may have seen the series we’ve been doing called “A Different Way to Campaign,” where we take a look at some fun and unique approaches to Halo’s campaign missions. This season we’ve been focused on Halo: Reach, and if you’ve spent any time in the game’s campaign you know that there’s a ton to do and loads more when you starting thinking outside the box.

So far we’ve looked at racing Spades across the rain-soaked terrain of Visegrad in “Reach Grand Prix,” we’ve analyzed the value of bringing heavily-armed Warthogs into allegedly Warthog-free locations in “Superior Firepower,” we’ve executed a ninja run throughout an entire campaign mission in “Way of the Ninja,” and most recently we’ve looked at Halo’s unsung and immobile hero, “The Passenger.”

This upcoming episode will be the last and final of the season and we’re visiting New Alexandria for an unorthodox and impressive approach to Banshee removal. It is easily one of the most challenging episodes we’ve done, but also one of the most rewarding.

Now here’s the cool part. The idea for this series began in the community long ago with some of the things Cocopjojo and yours truly found ourselves doing as we ventured through Halo’s various campaigns. Because we know the concept and idea behind this originated when we were in the community, we’d like to see different ways to play campaign from YOU! Grab a friend or go at it alone, then select one or more of the objectives below:

Reach Grand Prix – Find interesting locations anywhere in campaign for racing Spades. The more the merrier.

Super Firepower – Bring a heavily-armed vehicle into an area that normally doesn’t feature it. Then proceed to use it indiscriminately.

Way of the Ninja – Run through the mission “Nightfall” without the use of traditional weaponry. No guns, no grenades, no forklift glitches.

The Passenger – Fill a vehicle with multiple passengers, all toting heavy weaponry. Then leverage their excessive armament toward the extinction of the Covenant.

Remember, you don’t necessarily need to do things exactly as we did, in fact, we encourage approaching them with your own spin, feel free to try different missions in ones that don't specify such and bring new weapons/vehicles to the table if need be! Once you’re done, tag the clip with “dwtc” or register for our forums and post a link in this thread:

If we get enough footage, we’ll feature your clip (with your GamerTag) in an upcoming montage of all the different ways the community plays Halo! Don’t for get to check out this weekend’s upcoming episode for even more clip opportunities.
