Launch Day Specializations

Screen Shot 2012-10-17 at 10.30.16 PM

Thanks to GuiltySpark.org for sending me this article clarifying the release day specializations.

The following two paragraphs are direct excerpts from GuiltySpark.org

A Microsoft Spokesperson has confirmed to us at GuiltySpark that on day one players will have access to Wetwork and Operator as Specializations. I hope this clears up any confusion players had concerning the launch day Specializations. Contrary to what Halo Waypoint (and the Halo Bulletin) has listed and what IGN has stated in their articles, Pioneer will not be available at launch. Here is the official statement.

“Two Specializations – Wetwork and Operator – will be available to all players when “Halo 4” launches on Nov. 6. The “Halo 4” Limited Edition ($99.99 U.S.) includes access to all eight Specializations. Specializations are attainable once achieving level 50 in your Spartan career.

All Specializations will gradually be made available to download through Xbox LIVE in the months following launch for no additional fee, giving fans a continuous supply of new multiplayer content to look forward to as they progress through their Spartan career. Stay tuned for additional announcements.”

    …..this was already made clear, I’d thought….

    • Hawkeye9901

Nah IGN posted that Pioneer was a launch day Specialization. And Waypoint had Pioneer on their site as well. I think it’s still up there too. So there was a lot of confusion. But it’s Operator and Wetwork on day 1.

Now can someone explain do I have to wear those armours when I choose a specialization?

    • Another Halo Fan…

You do not have to wear the armors, if you choose a specialization. The armor, weapon skin, and emblem are for you to have more options customizing your spartan.

        Thanks.

    • ben

      No u don’t.

      • Chiefgunner

You do but you can change them i thought. I saw someone choose it like in a trailer type gameplay and it changed their armor to it but they could change it. I think that when you choose it you get the armor. IDK. we will see in .. idk how long. depends on how you level up.

        • Flamester BHO

Basically, you can wear the armor if you want.. but if you don’t want to, you don’t have to. But, to get the special abilities, you have to equip the armor MOD, which is usually a tactical package or a support upgrade. Which means, you can wear two, but they only if one is a tac pack and the other a support upgrade. you can’t wear them both if they are both tac packs or support upgrades. ect. ( like I wear the waterworks and the operator at the same time. :D )

You know what, I don’t even fully understand these “specializations” at all at this point.

    • Another Halo Fan…

Specializations are designed to fit your playing style. For example, lets say I am the type of person who always wants to take revenge on the last person who killed me. Using the Stalker specialization, when I re-spawn after an individual killed me, for a very brief moment, an indicator will appear on my hud to alert me of where the person that killed me is. Specializations are not made to overpower players; their purpose is to diversify the community.

Its essentially like prestige in CoD. When you reach max level(SR-50) you can enlist in a specialization which is a bonus 10 levels, as you level up through these bonus ranks you unlock new armor and perks and emblems. So people who buy the standard edition will be able to reach SR-70 when the game launches while people who buy the LE will be able to reach SR-130. Later on they will release the remaining specializations for the other people.

I am getting more depressed when I realize that Recruit may be the only helmet that I like enough to wear.

    • ECL1PSEz

honestly I really like a lot of the helmets especially the operator, and fotus (unicorn) helmets.

    • Carl

I don’t know how you only like one out of thirty five different helmets. Good Luck finding more favorites.

    • Another Halo Fan…

I was originally skeptical about the armor as well. However, after watching a few game-plays, I’ve come to appreciate the artistic vision that 343 Industries presented to us.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dan.winkels1 Daniel Winkels

wait, what? But didn’t they also say that anyone who plays the standard edition online before November 20th will also get access to all specialisations? That’s why LE buyers got annoyed in the first place. So is that still happening or not?

    • Mike

I’ve never heard of such a thing.

    • http://www.facebook.com/ST0RMKING Storm King

Yup got the same e-mail as well the other day. Im getting the LE so this really annoys me.

  • Raxs

I Quote: “…and control a wide range of vehicles: Space, air, ground and sea.” Water UNSC Vehicle? That i must see :D

    • Fenirad

      Me too.

    • theguitar1000

are there any maps that you could actually use sea vehicle on?

      • Raxs

I don’t mean in-game. Just a UNSC Sea vehicle. A Picture of it maybe? Honestly, i doubt they will ever put them in the game but i am a big fan of the novels and no UNSC Water vehicles were mentioned at all so I’d love to see what they would be if there are any.

    • Max117

No I don’t think that a sea vehicle will be there, this text is more like UNSC presentation context for the scenario than a real in-game thing. (it mean story and not in the real game)

      • Raxs

Oh yeah of course. I’m fully aware of that. But when they say that, there must be a UNSC Aqua vehicles out there somewhere and I’d love to see what it is :D In game or not.

        • Max117

of course it would be great!

  • h4l0

In the description for the Operator specialization is says vehicles space air ground and sea. Does that mean sea vehicles will be in halo 4???

  • specter

which armor specializations will you guys be using? i think ill use the one that gives you more xp.

  • specter

ok thanks man. this really allows me to understand so thank you. good luck getting one i the end up restocking.

  • icapstonei

Hmmm…..kind of glad I didn’t get the LE. Read below:

  • Fenirad

    I pre-ordered LE from Walmart, so I don’t no which one I’ll use. :D

  • Bluefang64

im using that hyabusa, its just nut what your yousta

    • Max117

OMG so bad english and I’m speaking French in real life !

  • Echo

    Sea vehicles? Interesting…

  • http://www.facebook.com/jeremyemery1984 Jeremy Emery

Okay, so I have the Limited Edition pre-ordered, but I can’t get LIVE where I live. Does that mean when I reach Lv.50 I won’t be able to acquire any specialization?
