Star Wars: Battlefront Online concept art surfaces

Battlefront 3 and a new rouge squadron please :) 

i really wish that now disney owns the rights to re-release the star wars games 

jedi knight-outcast + academy in HD+online 

make battlefront 2 HD with online support 

it's not that hard rendering games to the xbox arcade/play station ps2 classics 

Especially if they WERE on those consoles in previous generation!

Nothing of value was lost. Slant Six is one of the most terrible devs this gen.

I don't think I want Slant Sux making a Battlefront game after the way they butchered the Socom name. I miss Battlefront a lot, and would want to see a third game realized, but this news isn't anything helpful. Whoopee. Another Battlefront game cancelled years ago. Oh! And here's some artwork left behind that just happened to surface now. Do you feel the pain yet you worms?!

Considering that the developer was Slant Six Games (Raccoon City anyone?) and that it was an online only game, the cancellation might actually be a blessing in disguise.

We've had enough of cancelled Battlefront. Let the franchise rest.

since titles with 'online' usually mean 'online only', I don't really care. because for me it ain't battlefront unless it's got bots.

Another Battlefront game and a sequel to Republic Commando. I'm sure we all can agree here. 

if the people who made raccoon city was making it...I'm really not sure how it would've turned out lol.

Oh that is just great just what i wanted...another Battlefront cancelled?...so you cancel Battlefront and make that GAME that is Star wars kinect...just great .

I dont care what was cancelled. I dont care why it was cancelled. I dont care who bought you out. I dont care what was messed up, lied about, or financially implausible. The only thing I care about is another Star Wars game of the same caliber as Battlefront 2. It doesn't even have to be Battlefront 3. Take the formula and rename it "Star Wars : 'Splodey lazers and stuff 12" for all I care. Just give me an experience that can stand proud next to Battlefront and RepCom. Enough with the Jedi. Enough with the Unleashed nonsense. Enough. 

Oh and a KOTOR 3 would be nice too. Or Republic Commando 2.

Please just make a new Battlefront game! No more cancellations!

Hell if this game needed funding I'm fairly certain it would make even more than $1 million just from donations. Come on LucasArts, PLEASE make another Battlefront, or at least remaster BFII. The gaming community should do a formal petition. Where do I sign?

Great last gen Star Wars games: Rogue Squadron II and III, KOTOR I and II, The Clone Wars, Bounty Hunter, Battlefront I and II, Republic Commando, and Jedi Outcast.

Great current gen Star Wars games: Nothing.  Force Unleashed and The Old Republic were decent.  That's it.

Anyone else see the difference here or is it just me?  LucasArts has gone downhill so fast.  Star Wars 1313 better be one of the best damn games of 2013 or else my faith in this company is officially just dead.

I know disney loves to make money.... I look for BFIII to be made. 

Why do they cancel all of these? I would have bought them. Tons of people would have bought them! I spent years playing Battlefront II offline, and I would really like to play online with my friends.

i don't get it, why the hell lucasarts cancelled another battlefront game besides the third one? it's like none of them enjoyed playing the previous versions or what?

Two different Star Wars Battlefront games lost, and sadly, this generation would have been PERFECT for them.

No. There is no way that I will support an Online-Only version of Battlefront.

While I am upset that another battlefront game was canceled, thank God it was Slant Six's game that got dumped.

After Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, I am surprised that company still exists.

I think Star Wars The Old Republic would do PERFECT on consoles with a little design changes. First off, give it keyboard and mouse support. DO NOT CHANGE THE GAMEPLAY ANY! Next, The Old Republic kind of felt like a single player game with online elements, so Instead of having it be an mmo, keep the same game, but make it single player, with 5 player optional co op. Kind of like Borderlands 2, you would have the option to open your game up to other players, and they could join in if you need help, but still have the option to play offline by yourself. Keep the dungeons and raids, PVP, etc, but let all of that be the online aspect of it. Keep the dungeons 5 player and the raids 10 player (at least i think raids in this game are 10 player). Have an option in the game like a dungeon/raid finder.  The Old Republic is a GREAT game with a gripping story, and great gameplay. Put it on the console with what I said above, and you would reach a greater audience, and make for the first great Star Wars game this current generation of consoles. The reason SWTOR kind of failed and went free to play, is because it felt like a single player game, with online elements, and it was the first mmo to have a story line, with dialogue, instead of text. People that play an mmo want to play with their friends, grind for gear, level, and boost their character. They dont want to play for the story.  At least I dont. Thats why if this was made single player on consoles, with online elements it would sell. Its made by Bioware, who made Mass Effect. With all the Mass Effect fans out there, they would be dying to play a Star Wars game. The Mass Effect fans would be enough alone to make this game sell good, plus the Star Wars fans. Just my opinion.

Seriously how do people that are paid to run companies and make profitable decisions decide to mothball what would undoubtedly be Lucasarts most successful game ever?

I find it interesting that Gamespot has been reporting on everything related to Battlefront lately. I'd give my left testicle for a game that surpasses BF2 while also not being casual/streamlined garbage. Let's face it, making things casual and streamlined can be great but with video games almost nobody seems to understand how to do it.

We the consumers understand that for some reason or another you are insistent on producing Star Wars games that no one really wants. We appreciate that you are trying to do some new things with the IP, however, games like The Force Unleashed and Kinect Star Wars simply aren't cutting it--the quality of 1313 remains to be seen.

It is because of our fond memories for your beloved franchise that we wish to offer you assistance in restoring the Star Wars gaming franchise to its former glory. We understand this plan is incredibly complex, but try to follow along:

1. Produce Battlefront III

2. Don't make Kinect Star Wars 2 or Force Unleashed 3

3. Give Obsidian enough time to write and develop Knights of the Old Republic III properly.

4. Don't make Kinect Star Wars 2 or Force Unleashed 3

5. Produce a new Jedi Knight and/or X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter game

Once the above list has been followed through to completion, you may feel free to develop Kinect Star Wars 2, Force Unleashed 3, or whatever other bastard child of the Star Wars franchise you wish. We will be too busy with quality Star Wars titles to care and/or notice.
