Check out Dracula as he wakes up after centuries of sleep.
WOW PC !!
looks good. I really enjoyed the first game.
So Castlevania in modern days..interesting.
I will slap this game before i put it on the 360. Will wait patiently
Castlevania on PC! It's gonna be epic. Not very satisfied with Dracula's voice actor. Needed someone better.
cant wait....
really loved first part getting this for sure..
Castlevenia on....PC ?! Shit just got real!
yeah so looks like the 1st...konami go half way to making a decent, dark, tense, atmospheric game then somehow manage to strip all that away with samey, generic gameplay and design with dull, well, non-existent "exploration"...how anyone could call it that in the 1st game, or worse, "epic" is beyond me. what, because its a long game? Hack and slash on the rails, posing as an exploratory game is balls; if it were up close and personal, like a ninja gaiden, or dmc it might work, but watching your little sprite bouncing around off invisible walls is yeah, balls. Cherry on the cake though was the naff story-telling and characterisation esp. of protagonist.
Oh and is this set in the modern era? if so, balls
broost1 Haters gona hate. You speak of many balls, im guessing more than you can handle
broost1 you sound like someone who likes to complain. a lot.
When gamespot says conclusion, means that this is the last game of this series (lord of Shadows)?
It's a delight to the eye really I can not wait no longer to play it.
This looks OK, and the artwork is great. Should be interesting playin' it on PC ...
I've always thought the Castlevania series looked interesting but never played any as I play on PC (my loss) so I'm glad to see that it's going to be released on PC too. Thought the trailer looked good & I'll certainly keep an eye out for it. Hope it's on Steam too.
Honestly I wish they would just make an old school side scrolling Castlevania again all the new ones really just dont feel like Castlevania anymore not that they arent good games just not Castlevania... just imagine a SOTN style game with amazing art/graphics I would def buy that in an instant.
Sigh. So the new metal gear game has a "I woke up in the hospital and I don't know who I am" story and this game has a "I woke up in a coffin and I don't know who I am" story.
So this is what Lucas is doing now that he's sold Star Wars. Writing recycled dribble for Konami.
stevenrkorea In Medias Res. Look it up.
Could be interesting. I like the whole Dracula concept, I have never played the older games though.
the first was horrible!!!!
@MALMSTEEN4774 You must have played another game or you don't have any knowledge about these games.GREAT game the first ,a MASTERPIECE the second
MALMSTEEN4774 the first game had some pacing problems and a few other issues but it was in no way shape a terrible game.
Brilliant :D Absolutely loved the first one, one of my all time favourites, and the only game where I actually bought the soundtrack. Fantastic music, graphics, settings, imagination. So glad there's a sequel.I can't tell to clearly from this video but sounds like they changed the voice actor.
This looks pretty bad compared to the other hack n' slash games :/
megakick I'm guessing you didn't play the first.
It LOOKS cool, but... Castlevania games have really started to suffer as they try to inject story into them. Why should I believe this game would be any different?
I miss the days when they just gave you a premise and let you fight your way through the castle.
Marscaleb I'm guessing you also didn't play the first one. The story was excellent. The series needed a reboot and while some may prefer the days of 8 bit castle romps, the new direction is pretty awesome.
Okay, that looked awesome. Like the last game, the graphics and music look incredible. I only hope that the story rises above a simple revenge premise. My only real complaint from LoS was that the combat wasn't very fluid (hit detection was pretty bad, too).
il have to finish LoD 1 in preparation for this :)
As expected, terrible
*yawn*
Oh man, I loved the original Lords of Shadow- probably one of the most underrated action games in recent times. Looking forward to this as well, especially if it's going to have the modern day setting.
That artwork of him sitting on his throne is so cool as well, almost like from Symphony of the Night. "Enough talk, have at you!"
Glad to see Mercury Steam won't be completely ignoring the modern day clip at the end of Lords of Shadow. I thought they might have been given the original reveal trailer. // Was that Robert Carlyle's voice again? It sounded different.
Now it's got me wondering if Alucard will still make an appearance. I know he showed up in the E3 trailer near the end. I anxious to see how this game will pull it all together.
BlackDiamond81 It's not confirmed that that was alucard. It's mere speculation who that was.
Some say it was another similarly white haired guy...whose name I forget.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow was way better than God of War III in my pov. I bet the new Castlevania will be better than Ascension as well.
@AbrarULSY I can't make a good argument for why I'd say you're wrong, but one aspect where I'd say Castlevania comes second is in the controls. More specifically the game's response to controller input. There were a lot of times in Lords of Shadow where I felt let down by the controls because I had to wait a split second after performing an evasive roll before attacking or something like that. Or the controls simply weren't sensitive to button presses. Or bizarrely rolling in the same direction that I'd previously rolled while tilting the stick in a distinctly different direction. Basically there were a lot of times in LoS where I felt betrayed by the controls. That's never happened in a single God of War. When I've died it's because I know I messed up.
AbrarULSY if you believe , than your crazy as hell bro >_>, cant compare this copy of god of war with God of war.
Anstark AbrarULSY I also think LoS was superior in terms of art design, soundtrack, and story.
The first few chapter of LOS i didn't quite like, i actually put the game aside for awhile. A month later i had no game to play so i decided to continue, and after i killed the first boss the game got really good! can't wait for this one, definitely gonna buy it!
The first Lords of Shadow was grossly underrated simply because it didn't copy the same Metroidvania formula ad nauseum that had been done since Symphony.
I'm getting this. Unlimited Untamed Power is my thirst.
This is going to be sick.Hope they add some elements from castlevania symphony of the night
It looks like the ending movie of the First Lord of Shadow. I cant wait to pick this up. Glad they remade it from the side scrolling. Many wont agree but its a game and its extremeely enjoyable with excellent story. Mercurysteam has proven themselves as a developer.
There is after all still hope in some games. The first game was really good excellent I might say,but this looks jaw dropping......BEAUTIFUL.A masterpiece. BRAVO.
The 1st game was very very good, it played like God Of War and Dante's Inferno.
The gameplay lasted for at least 35 HOURS!!!! witch is very long considering it's a linear game. It's one of those games that you realise how awesome it whilst playing it.
The 2nd one will be as good, no doubt about it...
whos this main char? it this Alucard?
kinglucifer21 looks like the guy from the last game havent played it.
MasterBrief i see.. i dont play 1 because the gameplay.. last play is castlevania.. alucard.. ps1
kinglucifer21 yeah I prefer the sidescrollers to the 3D games and this and the 1st game seem to have nothing to do with the classics. Not a bad thing but still.
