Well, it's been fun arguing with some of you here. Before leaving I just want to say that a video game should be judged solely on how strongly it affected you. How well you remember certain aspects and how well said game drew you into its world are what everyone votes on whether you know it or not. These are of course personal opinions from very different types and experienced gamers. All I can say is go with your gut. Especially in this kind of randomly generated matuchups I voted for the game that I will remember, not the one I think is graphically superior or I think is less linear. None of that matters at the end of the day because some games will be memorable and engrossing and others will be forgotten in less time it took to finish it.
Go with your instincts kids and don't let anyone tell you you're wrong!

Why dont they get rid of brackets? Brackets are used in sports where the teams can actually play against each other. For awards they simply let people vote their top 3-10 players and tally the votes. Brackets makes no sense for an award.

some tough match ups. I think Dragon's Dogma should be winning over Amalur, as it's a much more interesting game overall. Both are fun, though.

2 points, why the bleep do some games get free passes, and others get a brutal shaft going against the toughest of the tough. Putting Last Story against Borderlands 2, while new super mario bros goes against a mediocre game like syndicate. Or what about Dishonored vs ME 3, or diablo vs assasins, or far cry verus walking dead. Those are finals matchups not second rounders.
And can the hate for Japanese games be more obvious, I seriously doubt any hitman game is better than a remake of one of the best persona games. And for f00k's sake, zero's escape is getting dominated by tribes. I didnt even know that series still existed.

The whole "Let's do the first round match ups with a lottery machine!" idea was s**tty to begin with. They should have seeded the matchups in the first round from 1 to 16 by average user rating. This way there would have been four 1 vs.16, 2 vs. 15, 3 vs 14 seeds, etc.
kiramasaki The match ups are as they are because the games were drawn at random to begin with, now are matching up in typical bracket fashion.
And I choose to believe it's not so much a hate for JRPGs as a lack of availability on all platforms.

I thought XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Torchlight 2 would have a closer margin than this.
I still think Spec Ops: The line deserved at least a spot on this bracket
