Liverpool FC today revealed the names of the 18 fans who have been selected to head up the club's inaugural Supporters' Committee.

The Reds unveiled plans in January for a new supporter consultation group and invited fans to apply to liaise with senior Club staff and discuss the issues and ask the questions that most affect them and the fans they represent.

The Committee will meet four times a season, with Liverpool's owners present where possible.

A seven-person selection panel featuring Ian Ayre, Ian Callaghan, Karen Gill (Bill Shankly's granddaughter), Dave Boyle, Sue Johnson, Jack Stopforth and John Bishop  was drawn up to review every application and jointly agree on the best 18 candidates for the Committee.

A total of 3,705 applications were received from all four corners of the globe and, after a meticulous selection process, the names of the brand new Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee were announced on Friday:

Fans in Anfield / Breckfield: James Benson
Fans in the Merseyside postal code area: Richard Pedder
Fans in the UK (Outside of Merseyside):  Aaron Cardoso
International fans: Nasser Aboobakar, Damien Moore
Season Ticket Holders: Robert Humphries
General Admission Anfield attendees: general-Admission@liverpoolfcsc.com
Official Supporters' Club Branches: Tore Hansen
LFC Official Membership Members (Fans belonging to the official Club membership scheme): Jonathan Hooks
Corporate fans: Laurence Whitehead
Fans who attend away games: Les Wright
Families: Janet Brown OBE
LGBT Supporters (Fans from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities): Paul Amann
Female Fans (Dealing with issues specific to women): Samantha Armstrong
Ethnic Minorities: Abu Nasir
Disabled fans: Jeanette Dodd
Under 18s: Lewis Cubbin
Over 60s: Stephen Kelly

This could, and should, be the start of something great for our wonderfull club. For the first time the fans really have a say where it counts and this is a great move by the club and Fenway in particular. Big respect has to go to our owners for their belief in our fans, the selection panel and all candidates. Now lets make it work! YNWA
