At Liverpool Football Club we believe passionately in the importance of family. That is why we have Tactics 4 Families, an initiative which is aimed specifically at supporting positive family relationships.

An important part of our Tactics 4 Families initiative is our programme for schools. The programme is targeted at children in years 4, 5 and 6 and their families, and is specially designed using the language and principles of football to cover 7 key messages about family life:
Work as a team
Get off the bench
Talk a good game
Sing your support
Play by the rules
Get up; don 't give up
You'll Never Walk Alone
Using quizzes, games, stories and class discussions the similarities between the skills needed to be an effective member of a football team and those needed in a family team are emphasized and explored.
The programme, which contributes to meeting curriculum objectives, consists of 5 hour-long sessions:
- 3 classroom lessons
- 1 football lesson
- 1 session for the children and their parents/carers together
