Major Assassin's Creed III patch next week
Multiplatform "Thanksgiving Patch" hitting next week fixes a range of single-player and multiplayer issues, reduces difficulty on certain chase missions.
Ubisoft will release a major patch for Assassin's Creed III next week, the company has announced. The extensive "Thanksgiving Patch" will roll out at the end of next week for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will address a range of issues in the game's single- and multiplayer components.
According to the patch notes on the Ubisoft forums, the update will fix missing audio issues and squash a range of bugs related to NPCs walking in circles and players getting stuck in certain areas. Additionally, the patch will make certain chase sequences easier.
The full patch notes (which contain numerous spoilers) are available on the Ubisoft forums. It is not clear if a similar patch will be made available for the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed III, which is due out on Sunday. A Ubisoft representative was not immediately available for comment.

After the Diablo 3 disaster i learned my lesson: never buy a game on launch.
I recently read a PR statement talking about how the PC version would be more stable than the console versions... but what does this really mean. I have a sneaky suspicion that they are referring to the on disc console versions without the day one patch or this up coming one. ...Either way I'm holding out a couple more days for the PC version assuming the DRM isn't too bad.
I'd settle for my guns staying as the ones I selected and side missions showing up on the map. Chases are at a fine difficultly?
About damn time. Too bad I'm already at 99% completion of the game.
First off.... Making the game easier? Stupid idea. The games aren't that hard ! Yes on some missions you need to try a few times, but its not that bad? I like a challenging game personally! Seriously people wonder why games quality drop to be too easy and sloppy, because at the end of the day game makers are bored of fat gits telling them its too hard because there hand eye coordination is shitty and there thumbs so fat it squashes all the buttons!
Hey I have no prior experiences with patches, are they going to ship out AC3 games with the npatch installed or do you download it onto your console?
JandroFelix12 After the patch is released it will be downloaded onto your console next time you start the game up.
The problem with every modern 7th gen game, in the old days with was just a PC thing and even then not nearly this bad.
It's coming to a point were games are only worth after a year, when all or most bugs are fixed and DLC is thrown in the disc as well.
Yep, patches are needed. AC3 is the glitchiest AC game i've played so far. So many issues! Great game but the glitches have to go!
aneed4peed :s glad I waited...
THANK GOD!
This is definitely the best AC game, but it's ridiculously sloppy. There are soooo many bugs in the single player that I was surprised that it was released like that.
Vodoo Perhaps they should have taken 4 years to develop it instead of 3....lol.
The more vast and straining a product, the more glitches and bug fixes it will need. Look at last years game of the year Skyrim...same sorta behaivor.
Not to mention, I believe the guys at Ubi said this game pushed the last gen HD's pretty hard. Curious to see if those patches fix all the complaints. Ive been listening alot and it seems many mistake lag, drop ins, and lock ups as glitches. Thats your system telling you "Holy Crap I cant handle the awesome"
On this I am an expert, lol, been playing some cross platform releases on the wii for awhile..Cod's are ridiculous, so are any latter 3rd party game that pushed the system.
Curious to see how many "glitches" the Wii U reports, as its suppose to do 60 fps at 1080 rather consistantly.
I hope they fix the outfit dyes. I know it's minor but it I think it's jarring when you can't see it in cutscenes
Wavey85 I don't think that's a bug, cutscenes are pre rendered so they'll only show the default outfit.
They'd have to be rez in real time like MGS44 for example for you to be able to see which ever outfit you use.
and we still can't put his hood back on :(
MajinSquall
"After the end credits, put the hood back up when not in Homestead"
NTenseify no it's off permanently if you wear the standard assassins robes no matter where you go but if you wear ezio's robes that has a hood but i don't want to wear ezio's robes
MajinSquall
I quoted from the patch notes, meaning this issue is getting fixed. I'm sick of seein his half bald head too =P
NTenseify yeah it annoys me too i don't mind in the homestead but in towns where he is supposed to be hiding have your whole head on show isn't a good thing
NTenseify MajinSquall Wow, they've really been listening to the community if even that is getting fixed.
I did think some of the chase scenes were unreasonably unforgiving - and it's not even that I'm that shitty of a gamer, there has always been a 'vagueness' to how you are supposed to approach things. Many of the events and chase scenes that I had to fail over and over and over again - it wasn't a problem with me not knowing what I needed to do to accomplish the scene, it's just that it sometimes was so obfuscated as to doing it how the game WANTS you to do it. There was definitely a few scenes in there that the game design wasn't quite up to par.
pip3dream the only thing i didn't like about them is they didn't give you any info on what to do on the first one your supposed to catch the guy but all i heard was "get him" so when i caught up to him i assassinated him and got a "desynchronised" they were perfectly fine as they were difficulty wise all they had to do is actually tell US what we needed to do properly
How shitty are gamers these days that they need patches to make games easier? Seriously? This wasn't exactly a difficult game to begin with.
gun_blade25 Truth mate. The concept of "patching in a game to be easier" when it's a single player game... lol no wonder games are being more and more dumbed down today.
gun_blade25 So true dude. It's called appealing to the casual masses (-__-)
I have AC3 but haven't played it yet since I'm playing them in order. Good thing I'm just getting started on ACB. By the time I finish ACR, hopefully AC3 will be patched up enough for me to play it.
HipHopBeats
Lucky you, getting 100% synchronisation was a pain, now it seems it's going to be a breeze
I completed it the way it is, I dont see why they have to make it easier. They are making my achievement of completion worthless as everybody who now plays it is going to think that its too easy :(
shadowmage101
So you base the quality of your acquisition of achievements on others rate of difficulty in acquiring them and not your own? riiite... logic
Make some chases easier? The AC games are already way too easy. That's ridiculous.
funkatizingmonk In this game (Only one chase mission for me) it was very hard, I did it like, 10-15 times before I got it (it was the last mission) :P But hey I did it, they can make it easier, but they should make it only very little easier, so there's still some challenge to it.
Good, but still does not fix that majorly disappointing and "WTF" moment ending.
Too late. Trading it in for Hitman on Tuesday. Woot! (Hey, where'd my sword go? How many times exactly did I pick up that piece of Eden? How come every time I go on a ship I lose all my arrows and snares? Where ARE those last missions to liberate North Boston and North New York. What the F happened to my convoy? Where is that brawler's tournament again??? etc etc ad nauseum. Broken POS)
I loved this game but there were lots of things I didn't like :/ I wish your robes would stay the same colors in the cutscenes, and people ALWAYS disappear. There was also a glitch where I kept seeing horses floating above buildings, but that didn't really bother me, It was hilarious lol
I'm with you I wish Connor's different outfits were showed in cutscenes and I'm people just disappear out of nowhere!
After the patch, GS update your review, atleast they are tring
They need to fix the dual pistol glitch, and the constant repeated message at top of screen saying "weapon: 1, item acquired: shard of Eden, and civilian mission item acquired" after every loading screen
DevouringPuma
These are my only annoyances with the game and yet there's no mention of them getting fixed in the patch notes!
they better fix the hood after the endgame
Good, this game is is an 8 on the bugs scale, 1 being Batman Arkham city and 10 being Fallout: New Vegas...
Option to put the hood back on! Although Achille's outfit is bitchin' :)
Glad I just waited to get this as a Xmas present instead.
So how did it get an 8.5 with all those bugs?
Suikogaiden
It probably would've scored higher without them, Kevin makes mention of them in his review
Suikogaiden They bought the GS review...
I'm a little nervous for the PC version. Fingers crossed that it has a clean start right out of the gate.
Hercules321 Download the Torrent first. If you like it the game then BUY IT legitly.
So did I miss something or did they still not fix the bug where you have the ability to drop your primary weapons in game?
thank god they fix the hood problem! i hate to run around with the mohawk!!
