Need for Speed movie plot revealed
Film based on EA's racing franchise will see underground racer seeking vengeance for murder; Captain America's Dominic Cooper attached.
The Need for Speed movie has come into focus. A Variety report reveals the film's plot, claiming it will be centered on high-speed cars but will also touch on prison and murder.
The film's story will reportedly follow an underground racecar driver (played by Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul), who owns a garage. This character is framed for the murder of his best friend during a race and is sent to prison. When he gets out, he seeks revenge.
In addition to exposing the Need for Speed movie's plot, Variety revealed that English actor Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Band of Brothers) will play a leading role in the film. He has been cast as Dino, an ex-Nascar driver who uses his wealthy connections to establish a car-modifying business.
In addition, Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, Fright Night) is reportedly being considered for the role of an "exotic car dealer" for the film.
The Need for Speed movie is in production at DreamWorks (Shrek, Kung Fu Panda) and is due to theaters on February 7, 2014.
the new 'tekken' movie? lol
They need to cast Burt Reynolds to make a good chase movie.
Make it intense, no cliches, making it about racing rather than girls/sex and it will be better than Fast and the Furious garbage.
This will be awful.
As long as Aaron Paul reduces his use of the word "b**ch" and this is not just another generic street racing movie made to fill in the place of the old Fast and Furious movies, this should be good. It all depends on the director they choose also.
An underground racecar driver... wow, haven't heard of that one before!
HAHAHAHAHA! I read the title of this article and laughed my a** off. Plot? Please. Any episode of Mr. Rodgers has a deeper plot than this craptacular snoozefest which will soon be found at the bottom of the bargin bin at your local dollar store.
They already did this movie many times....the various Fast and Furious's's
Yo! Mr.White! The plot is breaking really bad Yo!
Sounds like Hollywood is about to take another shit.
I hope Criterion get to make the Game Adaptation.
thou it's a F&F; copy cat it's have a better plot than the new MW....oh wait it doesn't have plot at all just a 2 line of instruction telling where you are what are you suppose to do...
Well dumb plot so hope the action is up to scratch!
We already know what the plot is going to be. No need to tell us something we have known.
DreamWorks? This movie might be decent after all.
What other games need a cliche movie? Next I hope they make the Sims into a movie.
"This character is framed for the murder of his best friend during a race and is sent to prison. When he gets out, he seeks revenge."
wait wait wait...let me get this straight....he's is going to drive "fast" while being "furious" over the fact that he was framed?
But they already announced Fast and Furious 6 months ago!
Also about a GTA movie there is Crank 1-2 with jason statham lol If you label them GTA1-2 those would work :D
there is already a NFS movie franchise, here is a hint its about being "fast and furious", duh !!!
This is as unnecessary as an Elder Scroll MMO.
I'm trying to find a way to put a positive bend on this news but...well, gee, who couldn't see this coming a mile away? 10 miles? 100 miles!
Didn't this movie already come out? i think it was called um.......
a yea the fast and the furious.
gokuss4z the first movie that popped in my head after I even read about the articles XDDD
gokuss4z everyone is saying fast and furious...doh!
Epic fail....but i hope not.
Poots...that name still makes me chuckle...ho ho ho
This movie is going to make the cars look more bad and mean for sure!
I have a feeling that almost every cliché is going to be in this movie.
Aaron Paul..... Hey YO B1tch!!!!!
Sounds nice, I'll definitely watch it.
Movie plot sounds decent enough, I'd watch it :)
Fast and furious anybody?
Dominic Cooper is a great actor, but I'm still going to say this movie is going to fall short. I don't know if there is any game inspired movie that's actually worth spending 90 minutes for.
jyml8582 I liked In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, directed by Uwe Boll. It was very entertaining, both because I like Jason Statham and because some people overacted, which gave it so-bad-it's-good qualities.
The words "liked" and "Uwe Boll" should never be used in the same sentence. Never.
AvatarMan96 What if I said that I liked for Uwe Boll's movies to fail? That would put "liked" and "Uwe Boll" in the same sentence :P. I see your point, I just have a soft spot for ridiculous action movies with overacting villains. I didn't like the first Bloodrayne movie as much as I thought I would, so sometimes bad movies are just bad, but the Dungeon Siege movie was really so bad it was good or entertainingly bad.
But after an hour you have to pay for DLC to unlock the ending..
CUDGEdave
Don't give them ideas!
bet its gonna be an average movie with fans of NFS games hating it.
When it's alot closer to being made or even released I'll look forward to seeing more but I hate... no I despise teaser things.
I don't have a problem with this plot. I have a problem that this movie is being made. Herbie focuses more on cars than The Fast and The Furious movies, and I can't seeing this being any different.
How is this going to be any different from those POS "Fast and Furious" movies?
This is going to be retarded. Just like when they made battleship into a movie! BTW, GAMESPOT Your registration sucks. I can't believe it actually worked this time, but it took me like 6 months and at least 10-15 tries or more just to get an account. I never received an email confirming anything before and I could'nt find no one to talk to to fix this. I'm not hating on you guys, but I hope you got your shit together man!
And in other news Uwe Boll announced that he will be making In the Name of King 3 and that film will rip off elements from Looper. No seriously it exits . Its announced on IGN and other websites.
firehawk998 I hope it's as good/bad as the first one. Haven't seen the second one, but it has Dolph Lundgren and as a Swedish person I want to see how he does in that role.
Well.. the plot was predictable.. But Jesse will bring something all other 'Fast-Car' films lack.. Good youthful like acting with a gritty edge..
Dominic Cooper is okay in my books. But don't expect much, guys, we all know what happens to this kind of projects.
Jesse Pinkman upgraded his crappy cars from Breaking Bad lol
Seriously now, is EA going to start doing movies for every game they release :)
