Chris Watters sneaks and stabs his way through this video review for Dishonored.
Where are the people in this game and it is for the most part dead like it's made of cardboard or a movie set. Too expensive for so little. They dishonored the gaming community. I always think when a new game comes out that they are testing for the second one. They don't give you enough and we hope the next one will be better.
Pass on it until it's $9,99
Overrated.
Playing it now, enjoyin it so far. However, I cannot but compare it to Skyrim and I do not know why...
Overrated.
Short campaign.
Forgettable story.
Not so interesting gameplay.
Assassination style doesn't fit in FPS the way they've done it.
I'd give it a 7.5
its hard not to compared this game with another like genre, but Dishonored at least made something out of the box, But I had a hard time playing as an assassin in first person view, kinda clumsy. My Skyrim experience is always third person view except arrow firing.
Overrated.
Meh!
Dude.....WTF is it with that stupid "countre Jour" ad at the beginning of EVERY SINGLE VIDEO on Gamespot??? Grrrrrrr
AloeVera4 It's called advertising, get used to it or pay for a premium membership.
Looks interesting im gunna check it out
This game I havn't played it, but it looks like need for speed most wanted
Gamedestroyer in which way?
@gamefreak215jd :) in no way, I just like to destroy games like this,
Why are people comparing this to Skyrim? I haven't played it yet, but other that the first person aspect it doesn't seem to have much in common. From the review it seems completely different from Skyrim or Assassins Creed for that matter. I'm just curious is all.
Actually I have already finished it.Very good game though a little short...
It took me 18 hrs to finish...
Dishonored is a first-person Neo-Victorian stealth action video game being developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2012 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.Harvey Smith, known for his past work on the Deus Ex franchise as well as Thief: Deadly Shadows, and Raf Colantonio, who worked on Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, are the lead designers on the game
game is good hell yeah but is not worth 60$ to short
simply amazing ... freedom of choice, and so much choice of routes. murder on a large scale like never seen until today .. and please stop comparing with skyrim and assassins and others, may have been inspired in those games, but has nothing to do with Dishonored .. enjoy and remember ...REVENGE SOLVES EVERYTHING !
Very much same as Skyrim, but skyrim is still better!
same as Skyrim
Even if a game does rip off every good idea, it's still a game with a lot of good ideas in it. This game most reminds me of Half Life. SWEET! Since HL3 is taking forever, it's good I got a taste of it somewhere. I've played about 6 hours so far. First the games art design is very unique. The different powers you have at your fingertips make gameplay open to many possibilities and have much much replay value. I am most happy with the assasination stealth part of this game. Sneaking around, peaking behind corners, trying to figure out a place you can teleport to that will be unseen. This game is a solid 9 if not more.
I'm stuck at a hard part right now, but I don't have that frustrated feeling, because I know there's many ways of approaching the scenario, I just haven't figured it out yet. The game feels open. If you look around, some of the vehicles resemble half life2. Even the way they have street and doors blocked off. It has a taste of The Elder Scrolls with books and eating. It's got a little Bioshock and AC. But to compare it to these games is unfair, because Bethesda really did make this "it's own game." Trust me, it's unique and won't feel like any other games.
Don't look at it as, "oh man, they just put all the great mechanics from popular games in it." Look at as, "oh wow, this game has all the great things I love from all my favorite games! It's all I could dream for!"
I thought I'd watched this review already, but great take - can't wait to get into this game!!
which is good
Alot like Bioshock which is good..
Seriosly.. Bioshock? Is that just because it's the only game in this genre you played? It's more like Thief if any. But i guess everyone below the age of 16 don't remember that
Modern gimmicky version of Oblivion. Not inspired ~ Try again
(Puts back on shelf maintains swag and walks off )
its good but not like assassins creed!!
the cake is a lie
got this on launch im now on my 3rd playthrough love this game
i would buy it if i see it for cheap
Looks very good. Must have this.
Hmmm. Assassins Creed in first-person.
So this is what Skyrim's and Assassin's Creed's baby looks like...
mleclerc182 Skyrim and bioshock
Dishonored is not Bioshock (which is my favorite game of all time by far). Dishonored is not Assassins Creed. Dishonored is not Skyrim. Dishonored is its own game with unique features and fantastic game play with a story that brings you in.
ShootumUP26 wow! before i saw your comment, i thought about all those games you listed, Especially Bioshock!
If you liked Thief or Deus Ex you'll like this. While I love both the previously mentioned games, this game has many more options in terms of entry/exit routes. This game is a lot of fun to play because all the powers have interesting synergy.
great game
this is the best thing thats come out in a very long time
The End (
Awesome Game!!!!!
this game reminds me of wolfenstein and singularity with the whole hand movements and the teleporting forwards and movement and graphics
Returning to the comments of this vid to see how things are cooking, I can confirm this game is worth buying. The best games always have a ton of idiots trying to bring it down in the comments, when they've probably never played it.
soooo awesome..need to play
Just like Fable: the Journey, the review seems like its trying to sell off the game. There are so many non-profit games that criticize the game by its art, glitches etc. But this reviewer uses "YOU" even though YOU haven't played the game. The upbeat gallant talk sounds lame and false because it is up to the player to explore the gameplay. There is little he talks about long cutscenes either, and his lack of negatives for the game are by far untraceable. He makes it sound as if this game does NOT draw elements of other games either.
This review is by far one of the worst I've ever seen on gamespot. :(
Bioshock meets Assassins Creed with a little bit of Skyrim too? Sweet.
I mean just watching that clip where he freeezes time and shoots the guy in the head is just amazing
Even tho i do not like the Artistic direction, this game just looks so baddass to look away from
megaspiderweb09 .....what?
Ultra_Taco megaspiderweb09 English probably isn't his first language. Here is what I think he meant, Even though I do not like the art style, this game just looks too badass to not look at it and appreciate it. Have you learned something today? Not everyone on the internet speaks english, hm?
