Mike Read from Crytek walks us through some single player game footage from Crysis 3.
The graphics are pretty nice in this Alpha version of the game
Well, Crysis 2 sucked badly so this one might as well be better.
I swear EA must think the reason people preferred Crysis 1 and Warhead was because of the grass. "Let's put a huge dome over the map so they can't leave and then we will put grass everywhere to make them feel at home"
Psycold According to the developers...
The domescreate perfect gameplay sandboxes. "We wanted to go beyond your standard urban war field," says Hojengaard. "The domes act like super-accelerated greenhouses, and in each one there are different geographic regions. In this demo we're seeing the swamps."
hope you do a past game feature like you did for Assassins Creed and COD series !!!
nice game, looks sweeet , a MUST PLAY !
Looks better than real life :S
I'm always amazed at what the Crytek engine is capable of doing. It might be close to out of date status, but honestly, it really does enhance the game play experience.
Crysis ? For a minute i thought this was Battlefield 3 ?
Why oh, why is he playing with a controller?
The Crytek guy sounds like Wolowitz from Big Bang Theory.
I didn't really like the campaign for the 2nd one but I did enjoy the multiplayer very much, so as long as one of those two delivers and it looks this good or even better I'm more then on board.
Asheileon are you kidding me? The campaign was so bloody fun, what's wrong with you?
CaptainKrunch10 I didn't like it either...it was boring imo...
CaptainKrunch10 Ever heard of personal opinion?
I personally didn't like the campaign of the first game either, why? well, I don't care for the story, and the second game held my hand far to much for my liking. But to summarize, it was boring.
Wouldn't you think to promote a game they would show something interesting? Instead we get a bullet sponge player soaking up rounds as he runs about a hanger just to show off the lighting, swaying vines, destruction....shock arrows? hasn't that been done about a bazillion times before? Perhaps the PC gamers were right, this has no right to be on console because of the limitations placed upon it....I'm a console gamer so blame me, I can take it...oh and sorry PC gamers.
Didn't The Simpsons movie do this first?
is it me or does the plot sound "DUMB AS FUCK" I mean how do you get around the fact a division of Marines came in and saved the day. Then the next day Micro soft "what ever the evil corp is named" holds a press conference and is like ya we saved the day from the Aliens. How do you just ignore the thousands (or hundreds) of Marines that survived the attack? Theirs no way the government didn't get some sort of after action report from there commanders. And didn't the main character of this game put a bullet in his head in like the first 5 seconds of Crysis 2? How is he not dead? Why didn't they bring back Nomad from the first game? This game looks worse and worse every time I see it, I'm Glad at least Far Cry is looking good.
Dedakiss You obviously didn't play Crysis 2, the ending explains everything.
You DO play as Alcatraz, but the suit carried the personality and memories of Prophet and it is now being merged into Alcatraz, making both of them into one unique being.
Dedakiss
Wow, why would we need a plot when addicted fans can tell us what's really going on
Gamespot - Y u no have 1080p?
jm11102 cause they're usually showing crappy console video
Somehow the big dome reminded me of The Truman Show.
Look promising. ;) Tough as the others though...
Gotta admit, the domed city setting does seem pretty awesome.
SIngle play is not what gets me going in a FPS game. This has been done before and it just has a nice new wrapper! You either go all the way and create a multiplayer experience(where you are presented with an actual challenge) or you just go like Dishonored and move into a whole different category.
NervoZa yeah because multi player isnt the same thing in a different wrapper
aaron25m NervoZa the guy is an obvious fan of the yearly map pack called cod.
I don't like killing aliens and I don't like first person shooters, but I don't know why I liked playing Crysis 2 (not so much the first part) , and after playing it I wan't to play the 3 part too. But I'm watching this video and it's kinda boring... still fun part is kill in stealth (muohahaha) ;DD
I felt like they REALLY ruined the MAXIMUM SPEED element from Crysis1:
I still think that was truly amazing. I mean it left such a huge impression on me, and it still does, whenever you play Crysis 1 you just can't-not get excited and thriled moving at super-speed through enemies and jungle alike.
In Crysis 2 however, it was just "MA....oh wait... sprint" not even a special sprint, kinda slow sprint at that...
I was excited for Crysis 2 but could barely make it through the campaign..it bored me that much. The graphics are nice but not that nice. How could they be with the current gens limitations? The mechanics are not exciting either. I mean a cloak, a shield, super strength, a few cool guns...this is nothing i haven't played a million times before. Good luck to Crysis 3 though, I hope Crytek has much success.
I feel as if Crysis 2 and 3 rely too much on the impressive graphics. The core gameplay doesn't introduce any new and thrilling experiences to the FPS genre. I find it rather bland. I do have a distorted view however. I've simply played too many FPS games. I would love to see Cyrsis on a new generation console. I believe Next Gen is what it takes fro this game to actually look fun to me.
It seems really great and the graphics are just beautiful. But since I haven' t played any of the previous games will I be at a disadvantage?
johnd13 The lore of Crysis is hardly deep and thought provoking so a reading up on the plot of either games (shouldn't take more than 10 minutes on Wiki) should suffice.
arsenal1111 Ok that' s pleasant news. Thanks :)
ok, I think this game is going to be exactly the same as before, but the fact that I can stealth cloak and use a heat vision give me the Predator feel(movie predator), and I like that. I might just get this game.
Are there going to be alien v human v player parts?! That would really make the game.
Yay the return of Psycho.
I love Crysis, hopefully this one will be the best in series, I believe in you Crytek.
Seems like a pretty standard shooter, but the graphics are beautiful.
chrisrooR if Crysis is known for, then it's graphics. the games offers the best graphics in this generation. or the best graphics seen in a game yet.
Gamespot bandwidth sucks! I can watch youtube full HD with no problem but here, 360p can be said not loading at all....
calintz Wow that is extremely odd. It's the total opposite for me. I can load Gamespot videos in 720p almost instantly but freaking Youtube... if I try to go above 240p YES 240P, I get caught up buffering for a longer duration than the actual video length.
You should have asked him if Crysis 3 continues the Crytek tradition of tessellating the crap out of mundane objects and running like crap.
rarson I lol'd. After seeing Crysis 2's implementation of tessellation I have realized that they have sold out to the graphics card companies to basically cater to what they want. Over the top unnecessary tessellation that yields literally no graphical improvement whatsoever.
Opened up the Crysis 2 editor, enabled wireframe and looked at a rock. Yep a rock. It looked like a rock with tessellation off, and low and behold with tessellation on the rock looked exactly the same. Except with tessellation on it had about ohhh 150,000 more polygons. NICE. Totally worth the drop in performance. Not.
All flash, no substance
Why does every game designer have to start every answer with "So..."
attackstory so... youre saying you have a problem, maybe?
I left it a long time before purchasing Crysis 2, it cost me ?20.00 on Xbox Games on demand.
I really enjoyed it and to my surprise even though it is linear, the sandbox for each level is big enough for me not to feel restricted.
I might actually get this at full price, like others mentioned; it depends on the multiplayer and how the balance issues are handled
(Invisibility and sniper rifles can really ruin multiplayer)
Didn't care much for the story in Crysis 2. Me see alien, me keel alien. Then I do it on a higher difficulty. And then on the highest. Finally I do it all on the easiest difficulty just so I know what it feels like to be Morgan Freeman.
It looks just like Crysis 2 looked on previews, linear
