About myself:I am a performing pianist, mainly focusing on jazz, though trained in classical music as well. A citizen of Israel, I was born in St. Petersburg, and attended college in Berlin; I currently live in Shanghai with my wife, a singer, composer, and leader of the band YID YANG, which I'm proud to be a part of. I perform regularly at various venues and also teach jazz piano at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

I'm interested in religions, philosophy, languages, mythology, literature, and history.

I've been an active MobyGames contributor since 2001, and approver since 2004. My main interest on the site, beside writing reviews, is adding new game entries, mostly those that were not released in the West (primarily Japanese, but also Chinese and Korean). I'm proud to have added more new game entries to this database than anyone else (as of January 2012).

I've added the majority of our PC Engine / TurboGrafx CD game entries and brought our documentation of that platform to completion in August 2012.

I mostly play story-driven games, or at least those where I can identify with a controllable protagonist. I enjoy addictive gameplay, exploration possibilities, atmosphere, artistic quality, and humor in games. I don't like it when games are created out of cold calculation, and value creativity above all. That's why I often prefer buggy and flawed games that were made with passion to polished mainstream products without soul.

The genres I prefer are RPG (both Western and Asian), FPS, puzzle-solving adventure of the classic era, free-roaming action and driving, and some platform or third-person action games. Genres I'm not interested in are sports, simulation, strategy, fighting, and any action games that are based on twitch reflexes.

I love all the games I keep in my collection, so if you want to know which are my favorites, please check out my Have List. The list to the right is just a selection of little-known, underrated games I'd like to attract people's attention to.
