The Voice S03E21: "The Live Playoffs, Results"
The Voice's first round of live eliminations was full of surprises. PLEASANT surprises, even! My precious didn't quite make the cut, but Nicholas David did in all his bearded glory. Adam told the screaming horde that seems to follow him everywhere to shut up, and it was so satisfying. WE GET IT. HE'S PRETTY.
What's the current Maroon 5 demographic anyway? I want to say "high school girls" but Maroon 5 were kind of a big deal when I was in high school ("She Will Be Loved" spoke to my deep 15-year-old angst), and unlike most of the bands I liked back in the dark ages, I don't think they've evolved like, at all since then. So I'm just curious about who their fans are. I mean, I don't NOT like Maroon 5, but I don't go out of my way to listen to them, either. I've briefly considered buying tickets to one of their upcoming concerts, but I'm not entirely sure why, and I assure you it wasn't to pee my pants in Adam Levine's presence.
Anyway, it just amuses me when anyone tries to pretend that The Voice is SRS BSNS and not just another completely shallow reality talent show.

i think team adam has the winner but i dont really care about melanie anymore... glad deborah is out and next i want to see mickaela out cuz she sucks
Boo to Dez. I will openly admit that I totally fast forwarded both his performance (after the first few words) and most of the judges' critiques on that one (though I was pleased to catch Adam telling all the screaming girls to shut up).
And I liked De'Borah, so I'm kind of choked she's out. I can't even remember what Adriana sang. My mouth was hanging open at that decision and I may have booed the TV. Maybe.
Not really surprised by much else. Amanda was a given, no shocker that the mariachi singer didn't make the cut -- great voice, but song choice is such a big part of it.
Cee Lo officially has the oddest collection of singers.
Thank goodness Adam has some sanity and saved Melanie Martinez. Think we should start a Twitter campaign to make her sing Fever? #MelanieFever, perhaps?lessmoreless
I was a little surprised by Loren Allred, but the song she sang was too boring and it just didn't stand out. So I guess I'm not that surprised after all... just a little sad. She did good in the knockout rounds.
I was surprised with Cassadee but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say she will do good next week. I was surprised a little bit that Blake didn't pick the country singer but I think he made the right choice even though I was hoping it would be Julio. With Cee Lo's team I think he made the right choice I'm glad America gave Nicholas some love. I liked Mackenzie but he got too cocky. I honestly don't care about team Christina that much but maybe that will change. As for team Adam I think all three that were saved were the right decisions

team adam - amanda's good but there's nothing really special with her voice. belting? is that it?
team blake - cassadee has a lot of fans but i would have chosen someone else. a lot of people says it's amanda and trevin on the finals but my vote goes to terry. amanda and trevin's voice are not the quality of voices that i would turn my head on if I hear them singing. i'm terry all the way. this is just so so sad that america tend to vote powerhouses. terry doesn't need to belt, it's that classic rock voice that got me.
team xtina - my vote only goes to sylvia. dez? he really doesn't sound good to me but the worst among xtina's team. he got votes from the looks in my opinion.
team ceelo - not the beard guy, just not my type, it's not the looks but the voice itself. it sounds good but i don't know... i think its just the prefeference. i'm ok with trevin. between him and amanda, trevin's quality of voice is much better in my opinion (but i still want terry..)moreless
I feel like I'm the only person who could not stand De"Borah. I like what she represents but her voice did absolutely nothing for me. I was bored every time she performed.
And so excited Weird Beard made it through. I was a little worried about that one.
i liked deborah at first but quickly got tired of her voice and her misfit speech on like every single episode... sooooo glad she's gone
can america's teenage girls quit thinkin with their lady bits? dez, bryan , really?? and christina...you get rid of deborah?! and ugh cassadee pope...cant stand it...bummed de'borah and loren and devyn are gone...other than obvious amanda and trevin final 2 happenin, im team weird beard till the end
