At E3 last week, there were a good amount of new fighting games. Conrad and I made our rounds to all the booths that had fighting games to show off, and Steven Hansen eventually joined us as well. Here we made our way to the Tecmo booth to go hands-on with Dead or Alive 5.
As you'll see, Steven discussed the finer points of the game with me. The important stuff, if you will. You know, like how you can see veins popping out where they matter, insane jiggle physics, the sexy lingerie, and the new see-through clothes technology. Okay, we actually talked more about the fine-tuned mechanics and new interactivity with the stages, but I had to get you to watch somehow, right?
Goddamit...
Only if women in real life were all ponstar-looking, had huge boobs yet maintain their physique, had their boobs jiggle everytime they do something, wore sexy lingerie despite the environment, had see-through clothing, and could go toe-to-toe with black spandex wearing Ninjas and fearsome Japanese legends like the Tengu, the world would be a much better place...
I've really liked what they've been showing, some hands on time sure was cool. Some of the environment tactics are balls out, and just seems to add to the fun instead of detracting from the fighting. AND I'm really glad it's gone multi-platform again.
I've been watching tons of DoA 5 videos lately... I think I'm way more excited for this than I really should be. It looks fucking great though! Can't wait for the costume unlocking to begin!
Gotta agree with d3v here. Fighting games are one area where you really need someone who knows what they're talking about. I guess if you're one of the people who sees the letters 'DOA' and instantly thinks "ha boobs hurrrr" then this fits, but bleh. C'mon Dtoid, I know there's fighting game players (even DOA players) on staff, I've played with a couple of 'em. Conrad, Steven, Brett, I like your writing, but this is a bit patronising to anyone who plays fighting games, let alone anyone who even vaguely follows DOA.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
