The DTOID Show: Skyrim DLC, Far Cry Minecraft, & CoDBlops

Max Scoville
20 hours ago - 8:30 PM on 10.17.2012

Hey gang! We're back again with the news about the bleep-bloops and the CoDBlops.

Today, there's whisperings of new Skyrim DLC, codenamed: "Dragonborn," possibly involving us actually riding the dragons this time. The Wii U doesn't have any latency problems, or so claim people who make games for it. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the most pre-ordered game ever, but everyone hates it, but who cares, it has robot bugs in it. Finally, they're putting Far Cry 3 in Minecraft.

The DTOID Show: NYCC, Sleeping Dogs DLC, & CoD Elite

Max Scoville
7:45 PM on 10.15.2012

Today on The Destructoid Show, we do what we always do on The Destructoid Show: talk about video game news,

For starters, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be making CoD: Elite a free service, but will be offering a season pass for the DLC. There's a pile of comic-related news coming out of New York Comic Con, including Domino's involvement in the Deadpool game, a Marvel Civil War-themed pinball table, some details on Green Arrow in Injustice: Gods Among Us, and the announcement of Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Ronin, featuring everyone's favorite samurai bunny. Metro: Last Light scraps multiplayer, which makes sense, and Sleeping Dogs announces some amazing-sounding DLC, and Dance Central 3 is great in spite of encouraging a sinful decadent lifestyle.

Hunter S. Thompson and the Case of the Pirate's Booty

Tara Long
2:30 PM on 10.15.2012

...is what I would have named Borderlands 2's first piece of campaign DLC, but maybe that's just me. That Shade character looks way too familiar.

Either way, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty is shaping up to be one of Gearbox's finest expansions yet. I sat down with Game Designer Jon Hemingway to walk through the first couple of missions together (as the Mechromancer!) and I learned a few things in the process. Go learn yoself, too!

The DTOID Show: Darkstalkers, Serious Sam, Rockstar & BL2

Max Scoville
8:30 PM on 10.12.2012

Today's formerly-live Destructoid Show was a whopper! Of NEWS! Yes.

A bunch of stuff is coming to XBLA, PSN, and Steam (such as Serious Sam 3: BFE, Darkstalkers Resurrection, and Toejam & Earl) and Borderlands 2 and Mass Effect 3 are both getting some new DLC, and Rockstar Games is releasing a collection next month. Finally, Gaikai and OnLive both have stuff going on -- for better or for worse.

We've got some goodies to dole out during the show, too - a Steam code for Retro City Rampage (courtesy of our pal @Zombie__Ninja) and three PSN codes for Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins. Hope to see you all in the chat!

The DTOID Show: Far Cry 3, Injustice, & Borderlands 2 DLC

Max Scoville
8:30 PM on 10.10.2012

On today's Destructoid Show, Tara talks about her amazing time with Far Cry 3, some new super-characters in the Injustice: Gods Among Us roster, Borderlands 2's premature release of the Mechromancer DLC, and Star Citizen is a new project from Chris Roberts, creator of Wing Commander.

The DTOID Show: XCOM & Dishonored reviewed, RE6 DLC

Max Scoville
7:15 PM on 10.08.2012

Oh man, what a big week for gaming. Like, because they're putting out a bunch of games and stuff.

In addition to reviews of Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown going up today, we've also got word that Rayman Legends has been delayed until Q1 2013, cyberhackers have discovered Resident Evil 6's kinda-sorta on-disc DLC, and spaceship bridge-simulator Artemis is coming to iOS.

The DTOID Show: SimCity, Retro City Rampage & Angry Birds

Max Scoville
9:30 PM on 10.05.2012

We weren't live today, but that's okay. We still love you. To prove it, here's some news about Sim City, Retro City Rampage, Angry Birds, and of course... The Unfinished Swan. So, different types of cities, and different types of birds. VIDEO GAMES.

The DTOID Show: Assassin's Creed DLC, Star Wars, & Porno

Max Scoville
9:00 PM on 10.03.2012

On today's completely professional, mature, and otherwise not stupid or embarrassing Destructoid Show, we discuss some very serious topics. First, a season pass is announced for Assassin's Creed III, and the first DLC will be set in an alternate colonial America in which George Washington becomes a tyrannical king. Then, there's this hilarious little kerfuffle about YouPorn coming to Xbox 360, and Pac-Man's gritty reboot via Facebook survey. Then there's some stuff about Star Wars: First Assault... Oh, and did you see our fun XCOM: Enemy Unknown video?

The DTOID Show: Mechs, Pandas, and... XCOM?

Tara Long
8:15 PM on 10.01.2012

Happy Monday, everyone! It's been a while since I've written one of these things, so I'll keep it short and sweet because I love you and also I'm insanely tired.

On today's episode, we've got a trailer for Halo 4's multiplayer mechs, fan backlash for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and reviews for Resident Evil 6 and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (Spoiler alert: there are pandas.) Also, is the upcoming XCOM FPS going third-person? The answers to these questions - and more! - on today's Destructoid Show.

Let's Play XCOM Multiplayer with a couple Firaxis Devs!

Max Scoville
6:15 PM on 10.01.2012

In a little over a week, Firaxis's XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be hitting stores, and last week, we had a couple of the devs come by the office to play some multiplayer. I teamed up with Jake Solomon, and our producer Zac Minor teamed up with Garth DeAngelis, and we had some fun making our little guys run around and shoot each other with lasers.

The DTOID Show: Guns, Boobs & Ninjas

Max Scoville
8:30 PM on 09.28.2012

Hey gang! Here we are again, another Friday episode where Tara and I goof off a bunch because we feel like it.

Big news today: something something boobs controversy Team Ninja Dead Or Alive 5, Konami unveils collector's editions for The Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Notch talks some smack about Windows 8, Hamza checked out the Black Ops II multiplayer, Microsoft wants to reward high Gamerscores, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance gives a new meaning to the arms race.

The DTOID Show: CoDBlombies II, Ass-Creed Vita, & WiiU

Max Scoville
8:30 PM on 09.26.2012

Wednesday means a new Destructoid Show and a new Destructoid Show means news about video games, or something.

Some new details for Call of Duty: Black Ops II have been revealed, specifically the ZOMBIES mode, which sounds like it's being given the love and attention it deserves. Also a bus. Playstation 3 owners are getting the last three Assassin's Creed games bundled together as "The Ezio Trilogy," and a Mass Effect Trilogy is being released for all platforms, and yes, this includes ME1 on PS3. Gamestop shuts off WiiU pre-orders and the WiiU launch-day titles have been announced, not to be confused with the launch-window titles. I talk a bit about Assassin's Creed: Liberation, and hey! Sony's Day 1 Digital is about releasing full games on PSN on the day they're released! Crazy!

The DTOID Show: Assassin's Creed III, Epic Mickey & BL2

Max Scoville
8:30 PM on 09.24.2012

Hey gang! Here's today's Destructoid Show!

The embargo is up on last week's Assassin's Creed III coverage, which Hamza wrote up a great preview for, and for which I did a few interviews over on the Rev3games channel. In spite of Borderlands 2 being a hit with gamers and critics alike, some people have decided to boycott it because it's not as violent as the first one. PC gamers rejoice -- acclaimed XBLA title Mark of the Ninja is coming to Steam, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown is getting a demo.

The DTOID Show: Halo, Revengeance, Half Life 3, & DmC

Max Scoville
8:45 PM on 09.21.2012

Hey everybody! I'm back from my travels in the far east to host another fine episode of The Destructoid Show.

Today we talk about a random rumor about Half Life 3 being open world, Tara runs down what's new in Halo 4, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is full of hilarious robot dogs and Vectorman, Remember Me has a ridiculously complex combo system, and DmC has a new trailer. And people are mad about it.

It's that time of the week again! Max and I will once again be convening today to talk about the latest in video game news while no doubt embarrassing ourselves horribly. It's our special weekly tradition!

We'll be kicking things off at 3:30pm PST on YouTube.com/DTOID, and we've got 2 codes for the latest Humble Indie Bundle to give away, courtesy of Destructoid Show viewer @tgarlanger. Hope to see you all there!
