Rhythm Thief

A user over at NeoGAF was able to uncover a screenshot posted over on Sega's TGS 2012 website indicating that they plan on porting over the obscure 3DS release Rhythm Thief to iOS platforms. Neat!

If you've played the game, this makes perfect sense. Nearly all of the included mini-games would be touch-screen compatible if they weren't already, and the gyroscope-centric songs will probably be a little easier thanks to the iPhone's form factor.

If the website is correct, then the game itself will actually be free-to-play, with the ability to buy certain items, or otherwise undisclosed options. In the 3DS version, "items" basically included things like score boosts and the ability to attempt a "perfect" run for more points.

Paywalls could be introduced to entice people to either play more or buy more coins to proceed with the story (if there even is a story in this version), but we'll most likely learn more at TGS. Either way, more people playing this game is a great thing. I really, really enjoyed my time with Rhythm Thief -- probably even a bit more than our own Jonathan Holmes did.
