For the inevitable moments where life drags you away from your favourite FPS, Jess McDonell serves up some great mobile replacements to keep you shooting away.
I never knew mobile and tablet games looked this good.Maybe when they start the next generation (or the one after that) of tablets,we might be able to play standard consoles with same graphics (or better),and these tablets might come with a separate controller set for those who find motion sensing and touch quite annoying.
But the games will still be as expensive as console games,for those who can't afford console games.

Warfighter Hardcore is not up to what it promised
havent tried the others in the beginning but if FPS military style is what your looking for Modern combat 3 is pretty dam good, and thats coming from a person who claims to have a bit of shooter fatigue at the moment, I got it for the IPAD ON SALE a few weeks ago
You definitely should've included "9MM" the multiplayer is amazing in it! I mean sure it's more of a gangster/GTA style game, but if you included deadspace for shooter fans (and rightfully so), I think 9MM should've been mentioned as well :)
heyimthatguy I actually mentioned 9MM in my Plays Like Max Payne episode (I think it was that) I try not to double up if I can help it. That is a good choice.
tempertress Oh ok, my apologies, I haven't been following this segment that closely.
Year 6 of non stop CoD talking...i don't hate the series (i don't hate any games they are games, i can not like 'em but that's all) but it's really getting tired seen other games, even lesser bigger project not having a chance like in the past to shine because nobody talks of them like before the first MW happened.

I saw the vid for modern combat 4, I 100% thought it was a console game. I never knew a game could look like that on mobile. Despite the few controllers for mobile, including the ones previewed here on GS, is there a perfect one, thats cheap but has all the buttons like the dual shock 3?
shinspikes Not that I know of, pretty much all the games I play for this show, I play on iPad (unless they're an Android exclusive) and I just use the touch screen. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it reeaaally doesn't.

shinspikes Actually, the Archos Gamepad gaming tablet that was previewed in August should be out soon. From the previews it looked quite interesting.
Do not buy Modern Combat 3. I dont even know why they included it in this. There was an update for MC3 and ever since, no one can play it. it just sits at the title screen. Multiple contacts to gameloft, they seem to have absolutely no desire to fix it.
danbeiswenger That sucks. I played through it to write this episode and it played fine otherwise I wouldn't have included it. Do you know which devices are affected?

danbeiswenger Are toy sure there's just nothing wrong with your system? I can play it perfectly on my ipad and 4th gen ipod touch, and yes I keep my apps up to date

Damn, i never pay much attention to mobile games but everytime i see this show i get impressed by the visual quality of some of them.
Anyway good episode Jess, dead space looked amazing.

Awesome, I've been traveling for work for 2 months and have actually been missing playing BF3 quite a bit. I'll have to check some of these out.
