More Mass Effect 3 DLC out now
Groundside Resistance adds seven new weapons for $2 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC; Omega single-player DLC hits November 27 for $15.
More Mass Effect 3 downloadable content is now available, BioWare has announced. The Groundside Resistance add-on brings seven new weapons to the spacefaring role-playing game for $2 on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC.
The new weapons for Commander Shepard's armory include the Venom shotgun, Executioner pistol, Kishock Harpoon gun, Striker assault rifle, N7 Typhoon assault rifle, N7 Piranha shotgun, and the Acolyte pistol.
BioWare also has announced that the $15 Omega single-player DLC for Mass Effect 3 will release in North America for all platforms on November 27. The content will be available for PS3 in Europe on November 26.
BioWare was coy regarding the Omega DLC, saying only that the content will involve Aria and her fight to take back Omega with the help of Shepard.
"We are aware of the Commander’s ties to Aria, but are unclear about how deep they run," reads a line from the announcement. "What we do know is that Aria will be relentless in her fight to take back Omega, and with the Commander at her side, she may very well be unstoppable."
Great! I'm always interested in new DLC that adds to the story.
Buying it is one thing. Being able to play it will be another.

OK
Charging for the weapon pack is a little cheeky considering at least 5 of the 8 are already available in the mutliplayer. The Omega DLC looks interesting though. I was expecting it to appear eventually given some of Aria's dialogue in the main game.
I have 0.2 $ left in my account, BRING IT ON! lol
I am interested in the Omega DLC. Yay more Cerberus to shoot in the head ;D
How many people still play this? Also, wouldn't it be a good idea to come out with this maybe after the holliday rush? Or are they worried that more and more people will stop playing this by then. Isn't most everyone going to be totally enthralled by another game during the Thanksgiving holliday? I guess the DLC will be available long after that.
Pre Order Bonus, Limited Editions, Collectors Edition, timed DLCs, GOTY Editions, Trilogy Editions.
What in the world happened to just having all of these things in one game pack that came on launch day. Greedy people
megaspiderweb09 correction Greedy EA
I am going to wait for the GAME of the year edition or the combo edition if it includes all of the DLC.
Could it be that Aria might become a squad member with this DLC? If not, i'm not really interested in revisiting the game yet again, it gets tiresome, especially when you know what its going to happen.
Don't worry space games live on with Chris Roberts! Besides, I always felt like the whole Mass Effect series got dumbed down after ME1
FroMcJoe No, they got better, but the ending just spoiled the whole series. ME 1 honestly had extremely boring moments and the inventory system was annoying. I felt like all I was doing is turning random stuff into omni-gel all the time. I just went with stuff with bigger numbers and just kept one around for each party member if I ever needed to swap weapon mods. The system for the second and third games were much better.
Kryptonbornson FroMcJoe ME1 was the real definition of the game and how it was meant to be played. I felt like I was part of the world surrounding me. I used to shoot enemies about 100 meters away with a sniper rifle. I used to land on random planets to look for items and get attacked by Thresh Maw(?) or Geths. There was nothing wrong w/ Mako, if you never Forza or Gran Turismo series I might understand you. The inventory needed to be refined but damn it was rewarding to get weapons upgrades. Last the story and soundtrack on 1 was more compelling for immersion that the rest of the series. The last great enemy in the series was Saren. I had decisions to make that I didn't get to have in the following entrances, for ex: Racni existence,Feros creatures(?),Wrex life and decision between Kaiden and Ashley. Etc...
R2C25 FroMcJoe Nah, the weapon upgrades were thrown at you from all angles and eventually became trash items. The planet part after I part 3, I admitted to myself were boring. Bringing Down the Sky was the best one and it was DLC. ME2 was much better in all respects and 3 felt more alive than both, but storywise wasn't as good. I like the decision elements like everyone else, but after the final ten minutes, I started realizing how weak some of the story to Mass Effect 1 was and how unrealized it was. It was only forgivable at first because you knew a sequel was coming. Bioware has never been good at endings and there games always had elements of boredom, but after how bad Mass Effect 3's ending was, I allowed myself to be honest with myself.
Kryptonbornson FroMcJoe ME1 open map allowed people to take different approaches unlike ME2 and 3. You might find it boring to explore the planets but not me. Well what other sci-fi game allowed you to do that? How was it "unrealizing" if your job was to stop Saren and you got the last boss fight of the series?
R2C25 Alot of video games are sci-fi, more than movies. It's not that special if the planets are baren. I found alot of the "exploration" in Mass Effect 1 to be as boring as "Bored-erlands." Obviously I forgave many of the bad parts as I finished it fully about 3 times and 4 for part 2 and 2 times for part 3 until I realized the ending was really bad and it really wasn't going to change.
@voods07 -the kishok was added on the first dlc its not day one equipment -also it doesn't do much without charging and its not that great a multiplayer weapon
Umm...the Kishok Harpoon gun has BEEN in the game since day 1....
I know because I've used it LONG before this and its, at best, an OK weapon.
they better make this one good
Lol, I downloaded this patch for free yesterday for my PS360.
I am reading about the DL today. Way to be on top Gamespot.com.
Worst part is, I don't even care about the DLC. I won't be touching the game again, too many games to play.
Don't like, Don't Buy, Don't Complain. (unless it is constructive criticism).
if it gets me closer to ME4 I will pay ANY THING
$15? Thats insane!
vault-boy $15 is insane? You do understand whether you like the game or not the people that made the game's DLC must be paid. Much of the time games are created on contracts meaning that people that worked on a game you hate may and probably have worked on a game you like in either case it all comes down to this. Don't like, Don't Buy, Don't Complain.
Pass. That's what, $25 I saved so far (didn't get Leviathan either). Spoiler alert: your choices don't matter in this game. And the ending is a bit of a cloaca.
be_skeptical Your choices don't matter in any game. It's not your story to tell.
be_skeptical
I like your name.
be_skeptical Spoiler alert: people spread misinformation about this game's ending. If you haven't tried it yet, play it for yourself now that it's cheaper and make up your own mind.
I did play the game. I stood in line at midnight, bought the 80.00 collector's edition, and took a week's vacation to play this game. I finished it March 10th. I have not picked it up since. I have never been so disappointed in a game. I had 26 Shepards waiting to go, and I played only one of them because the ending was just that bad. If you liked it, I'm really happy for you. I didn't, and it killed the entire ME franchise for me. There is no point in buying DLC just to see the same craptastic ending again. Bummer, but hey I have almost 900 hours in Skyrim. :-)
be_skeptical I knew the moment I finished the game that it would not be everyone's cup of tea. That doesn't make it bad and I was personally very satisfied with the whole thing. I'm a firm believer in subjectivity and that's why I encourage everyone to just try stuff that catch their eye despite what they might hear about it.
My mantra is "Friends don't let friends finish Mass Effect 3." I can't help it. It's practically "the game that shall not be named" for me. Six months later, and it's still just a huge freaking downer.
Dude, how many times does she blink? Like 3! I blinked 5-8 times during the whole 49 sec!!
Ferrets_one She is in noclip mode, probably walking trough walls n shit.
YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.
And yet people will but this and how coincedence it comes out before Halloween.
I want to be happy with this DLC news about new SP content, I really want. But let me tell you a story: I purchased the day 1 From Ashes DLC immediatly along Mass Effect 3. Javik is a funny troll, but I don't want to imagine how my ME3 experience could been inferior because the lack of it, along with that ambiguous ending, there where very few characters to my liking.Worst part is: I purchased it in Origin, and even if I can execute Mass effect 3 with offline mod, I can't start a new game or load a campaign because the DLC's DRM won't alow it. And when I tried to contact customer service, the Origin site just redirects me to home. I don't know if that's because I live in Argentina, but I already paid in EUROS, and my loyalty to paying for the great experience that ME series can offer is strained, making me an unhappy customer that doesn't want to shell his hard earned money to still get his loyalty insulted and stepped on.
I don't want to bas Mass Effect 3 merits, but if you don't like what you read here and still want to give it a try just get it on consoles.
santinegrete I feel your pain. They did the same with ME 2. I couldn't play my saved missions including some DLC's without internet access outside US. I felt like I didn't own what I paid for although it wasn't a monthly based subscription type of product. Horrible business practice that we didn't call them out on.
R2C25 Oh man that's enraging. I'm gonna delete ME2 DLCs from my wishlist. Thanks for letting me know.
santinegrete R2C25 Or..... download a copy from some torrent site.
santinegrete The fact is that Javik was meant to be in the game, and like half the content (fact, not sarcasm) ended in DLC realm to meet that stupid march deadline. All the origin faults are to be expected and they still suck, but this fact right here is the real reason ME3 will forever be the game that almost was. almost.
Hmm, buy some mostly pointless DLC, or save up to upgrade my PC for Star Citizen?
LesserAngel What kinda upgrades you gonna do with your $2?
fieryermine LesserAngel While I was referring to the Omega DLC, I could spend $2 on a sharpie and draw on my PC case and feel like it was a better value than a weapon pack for ME3.
LesserAngel fieryermine Cool. What upgrades were you gonna get with the 15 bucks then? I've already beaten ME3 on Insanity a few times and I didn't need a weapon pack to do it. So I won't need the weapon DLCs. I don't think DLC's are pointless if you have fun playing them. If you don't enjoy ME, that's fine with me. I've sure enjoyed the heck out of Chris Roberts games in the past, and luckily my PC should be just fine to play Star Citizen, and I think I might have 15 left over for the Omega DLC if it turns out to be fun.
fieryermine Fair enough, but ME3 just killed the entire series for me, but I'm just saying I'd rather put my $15 towards something else. Obviously $15 by itself isn't gonna upgrade anything on a computer. (Well, maybe a cheap card reader or something.) I might come back to ME3 in a year or two, but right now, I'm still pissed. Also, for max performance for Star Citizen, the website recommends an Intel i7 2500+ CPU, and a GTX 670 or equivalent Graphics card. I have an i7 920, and a GTX 560 ti, which would run it, but not at max settings. (What's the fun in that?) So, I gotta save up about $700, and that $15 is what's starting it.
LesserAngel fieryermine Ouch the specs. I'll just make do with less than max. Good luck bro.
LesserAngel Are you insulting Bioware, or Chris Roberts?
sidewinder_na Bioware, I already pledged $125 to Star Citizen.
LesserAngel better to save up the $2, you never know you might be $2 short on that last upgrade. lol
LesserAngel Im somewhat an expert in this field, so ill give you my advice ... Save it up!
