Cam ditches Science in favour of History this week, as he investigates Assassins through the ages. Just how close does the archetypal hitman from video games compare with those from antiquity?

None of these assassinations come to my mind when I think about assassinations haha. I would say JFK is the most known assassination?

Aww...I really wanted to see him talk about the order of the "Hashashin" (the true origin of organized assassinations) rather then him talking about all this little unrelated blips in history... Then again, given it's strong relation to Islam i guess there would a rather unpleasant comment war on religion... But still...T.T

Ok so nothing on actual assassins then..? Ya watched the video, that was pathetic. There was a Order of Assassins during the time of the Crusaders. Then we have actual ninjas during the time of the samurai and so on.

WolfGrey Yea, that guy grinning at everything really ticked me off. It's like he's a sadist who enjoys murder. Murder is nothing to smile about. The death of Lincoln was a very sad moment in American history, yet the guy is wearing a smile that would melt the Mona Lisa.

Sad sad day... By corporations I was referring to CBS interactive probably cashing out with the publicity PR stunt going on.
I for one did not add a hyperlink and if my comments get blocked or somehow they constantly try to add more fuel to the fire then you know what's really going on.
Better to visit other gaming websites cause it's quite obvious CBS is willing to do -anything- for views, far worse than the wannabe Youtube stars.

You know, I was never under the impression that Assassin's Creed was realistic. This piece is really fascinating on its own though, even w/o the gaming connection.

Cam, did you think to look into the historical "Order of Assassins", formed during the Crusades, and their methods? It might be fair the judge AC3 by their methods, rather than the John Wilkes Booth's or the knights who murdered Beckett. Interesting note: some conspiracy theorists believe they are still running around today, hence the story to Assassin's Creed. They are also a playable faction in the board game Illuminati by Steve Jackson Games.

Abraham Lincoln was a great American icon who stood for nationalism, equal rights, and liberty.
Obama continues these principles as well as those current for our time and even though the first presidential debate wasn't in his favour; he did not mind or tried to shut down satire from outlets such as Saturday Night Live with Jimmy Fallon. He knew that the trick, was not minding that it hurt, else the flames would spread into wildfire. Somethings are worth fighting for and somethings are not.
Don't forget Obama already withdrew American troops from the Iraq war and Obama himself is well respected around the world.
I'ma go watch The Amazing Spider-Man now *cough* corporations, PR stunt, don't take the bait *cough* time to move on *cough cough*

Anyway.. Wikipedia? Is that it? Nice, I can see you've spent a good amount hours on this. :P And yeah, he pulled his troops out of Iraq... TWO FU-KING YEARS too late. Towards the end of Bush's Presidency it was agreed that the war was dragging, that troops were no longer needed there, and the war in Iraq had in fact increased terrorism. So what took Obama so long?

It's true that the Iraq war was... was technically over by the time Obama became president but he has done a lot of good things too. He wasn't the guy who started the Iraq war
Obama isn't a bad guy imho, you can sh-t on Bush but... I think Obama has done a lot of great things and is trying to help out best he can.

Yes we'll assassins seem to be trendy. The issue you present in your video though is right to point good work. But comparing assassin creed with dishonored though is unfortunate you cannot compare these two games dishonored was a wonderfull game ass.cre. Though is not it it is a repeat of the previous games in the series only now you deal with redcoats and the u.s. revolution in other words it sucks. For someone who knows his games. One simple example look at the dialogues and the scenario of dishonored GREAT.Ass. Creed on the other hand dull.As of Hitman I think It's going to be good will have to wait and see.
