"Seaworthy: The Best of Nautical Arts and Antiques" is the theme of The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show at Fort Mason through Oct. 28, a tie-in to the America's Cup races set for the San Francisco Bay in 2013, but you didn't need a spyglass to spot famous people and purveyors of goods on the gala opening night. Actor Diane Keaton (center), noted for her sensitive architectural renovation projects, came to tour the show and sign the latest of her two books on design. She's seen here with interior designers Ken Fulk (left) and Ray Azoulay of Obsolete in Venice, Calif.

Michelle Ojala (left) and Meredith Martin attend the Fall Antiques Show at Fort Mason on Oct. 24 and are pictured in front of one of the highlights of the show. The art piece by Ron Pippin is made of 120 small ships mounted on shelves, and was brought to the show by Ray Azoulay of Obsolete in Venice, Calif. "Who is this for? Oh anybody," said Azoulay, whose clients include many Hollywood celebrities with vast estates. "In Los Angeles, that would go into a bathroom."

The Fall Antiques Show showcases the best of antiques from furniture to china and silverware to jewelry from vendors around the globe. Helen Raiser (left) and Merla Zellerbach (right) found a bow-shaped pin by Tiffany selling for $30,000, and joked that they'd make it affordable by splitting the cost and each wearing it for six months of the year.

Ahoy, ladies. Michelle Goss (left) and Adrianna Pope Sullivan, co-chairs of this year's Fall Antiques Show at Fort Mason, probably wished that the San Francisco Giants were not playing the first game of the World Series on the show's opening night, but large TV screens in a tent (and hot dogs with mustard) allowed them to keep tabs on the score at AT&T; park, where the home team emerged victorious.
