Zone of the Enders HD Collection hits October 30
High-definition compilation of PS2 Konami action titles due later this year on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; MGR: Revengeance demo included.
Konami's new Zone of the Enders game may be far off, but the Zone of the Enders HD Collection will release next month. Konami today announced that the high-definition combo pack will arrive for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 October 30.
The collection includes the 2001 original Zone of the Enders and its 2003 sequel, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. Both titles are "fully remastered" and include high-definition visuals, according to Konami. Additionally, Zone of the Enders HD Collection marks the first time the games have seen release outside the PlayStation 2.
The Zone of the Enders HD Collection also packs in a demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is due out in full in late February.

Keep this one clean, guys, there isn't a SINGLE SOLITARY justification for making a mech game with M-content!
To those who haven't played either game, I definitely urge you to get this. The first is an ok game. The second is one of the finest experiences you can have playing video games. If you have never played them, play them in chronological order. The first will get you used to the controls and provide backstory, because once you play the second one, you won't be going back to the first. Plus, Rising, despite the naysayers, looks pretty badass. Will be nice to give it a try.
$40 for two older games? lol no thanks, i'll wait for it to drop to $20 or less like all the other HD collections.
So I just pre-ordered the ZoE Collection and the guy told me that there's a collector's edition coming as well so I upgraded for that one. Does anybody know anything about a collector edition hd collection?
Am I the only person that had never heard of ZotE prior to MGS4?
kavadias1981
Pretty Much..lol
kavadias1981 Nah, there are about 5 of us I think.
This is gonna be damn good.
Finally :D I've been waiting ages for this :]
As if I wasn't already excited enough to have the opportunity to play ZOE again, the promise of a MGR demo means I may just poo myself.
I have to say I'm pretty stoked for this. I never did get around to playing the second one, but I loved the first, so this will be a good opportunity to see what I was missing. The demo's a cool edition, but not a big wow factor for me.
Master_Bassist If you never played *The second runner* and just cleared the first one, then you have something good coming up
Fenrir777 Thats the boat I'm in. I beat the first one, but the 2nd one was ALWAYS checked out at movie gallery haha. Memories. Looking forward to picking this up.
Wishful thinking but Vita version? would be nice after the fun I've had with MGS
Tempted to buy this just for the Revengeance demo. Sounds silly, I know, but I'm far too curious to miss it, and I have far too much money that I don't know what to do with.
@Lhomity You could buy me the new PS3 Super Slim if were so inclined, lol.
I too have very fond memories of these games. It has a very good story and it's action filled to the bone. I vil def pick this up for my collection and enjoy it very much.
Is it bad that I've never heard of Zone of the Enders until just now?
@unbentonslaught Only if you dont follow up by playing it :P I never played the first, but the 2nd is what all Giant Robot Games should be like... If they arent Mechwarrior.
Never played ZoE, I wonder how good it was.
I have fond memories of both ZOE and ZOE2. I'll surely be picking this up. :)
The sales of this will pretty much determine whether or not we'll see a sequel.
After this collection would I be out of line asking for Policenauts and Snatcher to be re-released for PC in HD?
As if ZOE 2 wasn't gorgeous enough. That game has some of the best particle effects bar none out of the entire PS2 library.
And it kicked tons of ass!
X-RS The game has some of the best particle effects bar none out of the entire last gen catalog of gaming consoles! :P
They *are* making a new one, but it's not the ZOE you know. Like everything else these days it's going to be ultra realistic and ultra hip. Kojima showed a prototype of some stupid Transformers looking Jehuty.
istuffedsunny Can sci-fi be ultra realistic? :p
An incredible series that needs a reboot....
ZOE was awesome. Hope they make new ones.
Poor Zone of the Enders... It will always be known as "that one game that came with the demo of the new Metal Gear," even in HD re-release form...
I like the big Xbox360 logo nearly dominating the "zone of the enders" under it in picture to this article. Nice one mcooch you assmonkey
@NINEINCH-Tool I can't say I like it either, but calling him names like that, for that makes you look like the assmonkey.
---Cipher--- monkey see monkey-ass
I just never liked Zone of the Enders, but I find myself always reading articles about it haha!
Lets just hope Konami learned something from the Silent Hill fiasco...
Ok, so obviously i'm kind of a Metal Gear Solid freak. Will I like this? I honestly have never heard of these games until recently, so would anybody suggest this to an MGS lover?
Razer361 I love Metal Gear also, one of the best game series ever and I bought the giant 3A Metal Gear Rex figure. That said I would definitely recommend this game to you.
Zeta2 Just curious, cuz they seem to be drastically different games but by the same epic guy, so I figured maybe I could give it a shot
Razer361 It is absolutely possitively nothing like MGS.
What your basically asking is "I'm a HUGE Devil May Cry fan. Will I like Call of Duty?"
Look up some Youtube videos. It's a fast paced beat-em-up style game in space, with mechs fighting mechs.
Dragon_Nexus Yeah, I realize how that sounds, but they are both by Kojima, so I figured there would be some kind of uniqueness that they share.. Yeah I realize I don't make sense. :P
Razer361 Dragon_Nexus there are some remarkable similarities, though the gameplay is totally different. those similarities mostly show up through the way the game is presented to you. like, i feel like Kojima has a very solid idea of how he thinks a game should be presented, and when it comes to menus, accessibility, learning curve, and visual presentation and standards, this game is right on par with the Metal Gear series, though it is a totally different subject and genre. i say go for it; the first game is pretty good, but the second game is excellent.
I can't wait for this to come out!!! If anyone is wondering if this is worth it, it so is. Both of the games are fantastic and I have kept both of my original copies. Can't wait!!
never played these games... Worth the purchase? In the last 12 months I have bought a bunch of HD collections... Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Metal Gear Solid, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, Splinter Cell and most recently, Ratchet and Clank XD - some awesome awesome games in there and most I have never played
mtait01 It is definitely worth it. ZOE2 alone makes the purchase worthwhile.
At least they did not fck this up like the MGS HD collection......
ZippyDSMLee What was fucked up about that?
The Silent Hill collection was more fucked uper.
@Dragon_Nexus SH HDC was a joke and msot of the new games are a joke. MGS HD is missing the wonderfully orchestrated MGS 1 and MGS 1:Twin Snakes. How the hell did they manage to mess that up?
ZippyDSMLee Dragon_Nexus Well for one, you can;y really HD Playstation 1 graphics without putting in a crap ton of work
Second, I imagine there was probably some licensing involved with getting the Twin Snakes (inferior) version.
Dragon_Nexus Not really, use Twin snakes engie and models, ect just the sound and cut scenes from MGS 1. Doing anything less means its spam and not a quality release and Kojima cared about....... its just crap spoon fed to the masses ><
ZippyDSMLee You have no idea how game design works.
You don't just copy and paste stuff together. To do what you suggest they'd need to completely remake the entire game. They'd need to reanimate every cutscene for one thing, change the weapon spawn points because those were different...
It's more work than what you think it is. It wouldn't be profitable.
