Danny O'Dwyer massacres most of the state of Florida in this video review of Hotline Miami.
it's like playing a family computer way back early 90's
nice to see a review from Danny!
We had great time with good old games because they were fun... making new games look like old crap doesn't have the same effect...
Reminds me of Stick Arena: Ballistick. Looks okay, think I'll give it a try, I liked the part where you'll die 20 times before you finish the level.
I strongly get the impression that the review score is more of a statement then a review score.
arjan17 It's a statement on how good this game is out of 10 - if that's what you mean.
back to commodore 64 or amiga 500!!!:-)
Real fun game. Still dont really know what the story was trying to tell me though. Maybe nothing..
How do they rate this a 8.5 seriously? It's like a cheap version of gta1, it's 2012!!! Give RE a low score but this deserves a 8.5? How? They need only one person to make reviews
Shabo883 This game is not at all like Gran Theft Auto. Actually play it before making blind statements. RE 6 was reviewed poorly by many critics (not just by GameSpot); this game actually has a strong critic average.
why can't these type of games be ported to handheld??
reivax_darkmage The developer is in talks with Sony about a VITA port.
dannyodwyer
really?! that is good news! hopefully it gets done and can come out early next year
I wish AAA game developers had the balls to develop hardcore games like these..
but hey i guess modern warfare is better -_-
mishfish People want to be spoon-fed. They don't want to think, they want things to be easy. Being killed in one shot is unfortunately not something that will appeal to the masses. In games today you regen health over time, and you will be able to survive anything, as long as you take cover for certain amount of time.
Loving this game, but its buggy as fuck.

hehehehehehe
Gamespot! More Danny, more of the time. If we're going to get like only 12 episodes of Mount Stupid, we should be getting more O'Dwyer video reviews.
Anything thal looks like GTA shall receive high ratings (This one looks like first GTA games)
Payasoplas did you even watch the review its nothing like GTA
AcidThunder Payasoplas Saying it's nothing like GTA is sillier than saying it's just like GTA. It does indeed look a lot like early GTA games. Good enough for me.
Lord_Snoodles AcidThunder Payasoplas Interestingly enough, they weren't the first top down games of their time. So, it still stands that it is nothing like GTA.
Payasoplas Gee, maybe it's just a good game.
nice, Danny didn't know Danny finally did reviews now!
Just horrible. blargh.
yes, higher score than moh! suck it aaa titles!
Review Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams!
Looks like a lot of fun, but astronomically tasteless. Think I'll be passing on this one.
Renoo27 With as much as I've read and heard the editors being upset with pointless, over-the-top violence, I'm surprised at the rating. Although, I'm sure it's a good game, I'll be passing as well.
Coren_Larken
You've got a good point there, there have been complaints lately from journalists about violence in video games. Still, this Danny's review. He's pretty open-minded.
Coren_Larken Renoo27 There's definitely a point to the violence that I'm not sure the review covered. Ever play Spec Ops: The Line? It's kind of like that.
Frankenstrat247 Coren_Larken
Spec Ops, really? That game's pretty fricking deep. Ahh... loved that game. The violence in that does indeed help get it's message across. But are you saying Hotline Miami has some deep meaning?
https://vimeo.com/52497110 Renoo27 Frankenstrat247 Coren_Larken
Renoo27 It's far from tastless. The violence tells a story here. It serves a purpose in this game. This is not Postal or Prototype where you just kill horribly for the killing.
"and like most cocaine-fuelled rampages, it's short-lived...but enjoyable,"
LOL!!!! But no xbox controller support?
