Rockstar confirms Grand Theft Auto V will launch in Spring 2013, with pre-orders starting November 5th.
If it's gonna be released that soon then what's keeping R* from releasing more info about the game? I'm still in the dark about the main character, disc space, map size, variety of vehicles, and everything else.
WOW a March release would make my B-Day feel like I want another one (haha)
I like the 3rd person games and that's another reason R* has got me hooked !
early 2013 looks to be getting better and better for our gaming world ! ....
CAN YOU DIG IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT ?
I pre-ordered this going back 6 months ago. I have just been paying it off slowly.
So now that there is an official launch date maybe they will start releasing a little more info?? God I hope so.
I will be picking this up for sure but I don't pre-order anything no matter how big a fan I am of it.
jpm1276 Why? What's the logic? Pre-ordering simply means you can guarantee yourself a copy and give you the chance to pay for it while waiting for it, instead of dropping $60 all at once (not that that is a big deal.)
jpm1276 Pretty stupid if you ask me. Pre ordering does not hurt you. You put 5 dollars down and you have a chance of getting bonuses. How could you be so brainless? There is no extra cost. People......
I'm waiting for a collectors edition to pre-order! ;)and its gta, can't be a bad game so why wait till launch to order?
any news about the PC version
Will it be the biggest game of 2013 ?
heeellll yeeeaaahhh bitches
Raggi_Boy YEA BITCH! MAGNETS! AND GTA!
I really can't wait for this
dariohum123 So? What are you going to do then?
HydrophoneWait, I geuss ..
Nice! :D
console graphic will be limited and shity especialy for GTA,I hate the idea it's only for console,I remember I played GTA vice city story in ps2,I hate the graphic and limited frame rate,in GTA 4 it runs about 55 fps at ultra setting but it's like not meant for pc,In my opinion I think the next gta should have special edition for pc,not poor port,if they hate piracy, piracy will not stop and only the customer maner decide the copy he get,so stop putting lot of useless drm that only pain the legal owner, and don't put zombie,at least put it in dlc
croserII My god that was painful to read. Learn Grammar
GTA 5: Undead NIghtmare? Plz?! Rockstar, the way you built the game is perfect for this, barricading your home by moving furniture, among other features i have heard about, would make it a perfect fit for a or seperate dlc story mode, even a survival in a 'zombie mode' within the game...
It has to be the best Grand Theft Auto ever.. it has to be or I will be very upset.
Dogswithguns You will be surprised!
Who cares is there's no PC version. As a PC gamer myself, having to wait for GTA IV after the console release sucked, but I was used to publishers doing that. What I wasn't prepared for was the god-awful port that Rockstar churned out.
After SEVEN patches spanning nearly EIGHTEEN months, the game is still poorly optimised. And they weren't minor bug fixes either; changes were constantly being made to the shadows, shaders and textures with all the updates. That alongside GFWL, Social Club and other DRM crapware was a clear indication that Rockstar no longer cares about it's PC heritage.
But I guess it's a vicious circle; the more people pirate games, the more likely publishers delay releases and spend less man hours and finances developing a decent PC version. After all, whose gonna buy a shoddy port injected with a ton of DRM when they can pirate it and run it better without having to log on/sign in to a bunch of processes that run in the background? Then the publishers say "More copies will be illegally downloaded than we sell". And so it goes round...
I'd rather Rockstar not release GTA V at all for PC than release a shoddy effort that's anything like GTA IV. That way at least I know I should just buy a console and be done with it!
e5115271 i disagree. i like all my gtaIV mods. I was extremely disappointed with the skipping of red dead. Given all of Rockstars games have run on the same updated and optimized engines. Having a game like Max Payne 3 run well on my PC bodes very well for PC optimizations across the board and under the hood. I cant wait for a PC port of GTAV. I imagine the modding world and the possibilities and my mind runs wild, not held back by the limited scope of a now ancient console with 512 megs of ram and an 8600GT.
ColdfireTrilogy They actually only have 256 MB RAM so it's even worse :)
Okay, I already read this news in tons of other websites, but I clicked anyway, because that girl in the pic is just awesome
Yeah, I am perverted. :p
Slash_out It does not make you perverted to like a woman
Slash_out hey! What woman in the pic??! Haven't seen any!
does anyone remember when everyone was play GTA SA a lot of people were discussing the legends in the game such as UFO and bigfoot etc wouldnt it be awesome if rockstar actually put random stuff like that to get people talking
For the PC version, I remember the statement Rockstar released when people realized they had locked down the graphic controls so that you could not even set your own graphics settings. They said, "Those settings are for future machines". So, now it is "the future", and I own a 3gb HD7950. Try to play GTAIV with that and it thinks you only have 300 megs of vram because 3gb cards did not exist when this came out. Only way around was running a script before the game launches to stop the restriction of memory.
Oh Memories VineWood :) I Hope this game will be like San Andreas more features and no more Hotdogs for HP Restoration
This is the best news I've heard since the assassins creed movie and that George Lucas has sold Star Wars to Disney and episode 7 is coming out in 2015 with 8 and 9 sequentially following a few years after!
starfish75 so.. Mickey Mouse will be in Star Wars too XD
@Ryoushi06 along with spiderman
For all those people wanting and waiting for PC - Just go out buy a console for $200 and you get to play V on the day it comes out. You can play on a big screen TV while sitting on a comfortable couch instead of sitting at a crappy desk and playing on a 20" screen.
Crypto6969 *sigh*
I have a 50 foot HDMI hooked up from my desktop to my 46" living room HDTV, plus a wireless xbox controller that reaches any room on the downstairs of my house and works with every single PC game. I have the option of EITHER, while you ONLY have the option of using the xbox....sad how misinformed people like you are.
Crypto6969 Your terribly misinformed comment made me lol.
Crypto6969 Oh look its this comment ... rather play on my PC in a comfortable leather chair on a 23" screen which fills most of your view at that distance instead of sitting on a scabby couch your mom has had for years with a TV that has extreme input lag.
But hey lets all run out and spend $260 for just one game.
Don't want to have to purchase this on Xbox, but I'm guessing its gonna have to be done, until the PC version comes out of course.
For God's sake, release this on PC already! These PC folks are obsessed with the title. And why wouldn't they be? They are a great market because of the freedom on PC titles. It's sad that PC version doesn't get to come out at the same time, like everyone else. I think I may tap in to this market myself, I've been watching some great vids on mods and such. My roommate loves his BF3 on PC more than air. The graphics do look amazing and you can't beat being so free in a digital world. Rockstar, go make your extra money on the consoles and give it to the PC fans late, as usual... I still don't get it.
erix43 PC sales of GTA IV weren't very good compared to the console. Rockstar probably need to decide if it makes sense in purely economic terms. The piracy levels on PC probably don't help either.
aquaglow erix43 Yea I was one of those people who bought GTAIV the day it came out for PC and reviewed it here on Gamespot, it was a broken mess and is still a crappy port to this day. Most people found that the pirated version worked better online than the one I paid for which was even more frustrating.
aquaglow erix43 They weren't good because it was a year late and an atrocious port, ridiculously high demanding in terms of CPU.
I'm surprised how many people are talking about PC release. They can't possibly ignore this outcry.
One word.... Icenhancer!! PC "the way its meant to be played"
Wonder what they will call the ingame phone, Peach 700?
Kaz32 maybe fruit 700
Venatorcruiser That's lame.
It's Rockstar developed, it's pre-ordered. Just waiting in case they do a collectors edition. xD
I hope they won't drop the PC version. I have played all of the franchise titles on it. I hope the lack of PC information on the release is only due the fact it will come latter, after the console versions. Other than that, if no PC version is released, it would be a VERY disappointing move from R*
MarcioHuser yeah you are right.....we all want GTA 5 on PC
