Square's designers love to cameo Final Fantasy characters in other titles. Recently, some characters are getting entire games to themselves! Here are some of the cameos they've tried to slip past gamers over the years.

Final Fantasy IV's Cecil has taken up residence at Ebon Keep. Other characters from Final Fantasy IV and VI can be seen in the crowd at the Coliseum.
Super Mario RPG
Culex, a being from beyond Mario's dimension, is waiting in the depths. His lengthy and melodramatic introduction is backed by the boss music from Final Fantasy IV. Even this battle's victory fanfare is changed to Final Fantasy's. Poor Mario doesn't know what hit him.

Several weapon and armor names are Final Fantasy references, such as Agrias' Necklace (Final Fantasy Tactics) and the Seventh Heaven (a crossbow, Final Fantasy VII).
Parasite Eve 2
Aya Brea's ultimate weapon is Squall's gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII. It's a secret weapon, though - those things are definitely not standard issue.
