Neither rain, nor sleet, nor hail, nor a combination of every weather pattern imaginable thrown together into a horrific monstrosity can stop the comics*. This week, we’re most excited about the landmark BPRD: HELL ON EARTH #100 from Dark Horse! Things have been looking bad for our paranormal investigating heroes for a while, but without spoiling anything, things in this issue get way, way worse. That thing you suspected the title “Return of the Master” was referring to? Well, Mike Mignola and company show their hand this issue, and you were, in fact, correct. Yipes.

When it comes to the version of the Green Goblin making his debut this weekend in the hour-long episode of "Ultimate Spider-Man, actor Steven Weber doesn't want to reveal too much when we talk. He will say, "The conclusion of the series will make everybody's jaw drop. [The animators] did an amazing job." The update to the classic Spidey villain in the episodes "Revealed" and "Rise of the Goblin" remix elements from the existing versions of the character in both the 616 and the Ultimate universes.

Created when Norman Osborne's machinations get in the way of Dr. Octopus's plans, the hulking monster presents a new and even more formidable threat for Spider-Man as the first season of the Disney XD series comes to a close.

A few weeks ago we showed you some awesome Lord of the Rings stained glass art, but they were only drawings made to look like stained glass. This stained glass Iron Man, on the other hand, is the real deal. Created by Etsy shop owner R Evan Daniels, the impressive piece is inspired by Iron Man's latest armor and measures 31"x47".

None of these guys and gals are going to be joining Wolverine in his new movie ('cept maybe Jean Grey)

Now, this is a very interesting way to do the new "Wolverine" film -- as reported by MTV Splashpage, the character will be sans X-Men, sans usual cast of characters. Splashpage quotes "The Wolverine" director James Mangold from Empire magazine:

"Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all...Jean Grey is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there’s a tremendous sense of isolation for him." Read More...

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've no doubt seen by now the "Iron Man 3" trailer. What's the verdict? It seems really nail-bitingly exciting...but also tres dark. I dare say it has the dire, dirge-like feel of..."The Dark Knight Rises"!

Anybody who's a fan of the "Iron Man" comics knows that The Mandarin -- he of the many powerful rings of doom -- is of Chinese ancestry. But when it was announced that acclaimed actor Ben Kingsley -- who is not Chinese -- was to play the role in "Iron Man 3," it didn't seem like that big a deal (check out MTV Splashpage for the scoop). Sure, it was a bit of a scandal when a purported "Akira" movie was to have an all-Caucasian cast. But Kingsley is an Oscar-winning actor; he could make playing Mandarin work. And Scarlett Johansson is hardly Russian but makes a great Natasha Romanoff.

But as revealed today in a Entertainment Weekly interview with Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, this version of the classic "Iron Man" villain might not be Chinese at all. Or maybe he is. Or rather -- he is a "hodgepodge of various warrior motifs," including a samurai and, at least as described by EW, Osama Bin Laden. Read More...

While Marvel is ending some of their biggest runs, and DC launches a new year of the New 52, the title we’re most excited about this week is GHOST #1 from Kelly Sue DeConnick and Phil Noto. The Dark Horse book follows right up on the serialized story from Dark Horse Presents, but DeConnick ably gets you right into the weird tale of a woman with possibly supernatural powers, the ghost hunters helping her out, and the weirdest box since "Hellraiser." Plus, Noto’s art and command of characters is fab. If you’re looking for a new title to jump on board, this is the one.
