One of the bigger bits of news out of New York Comic Con - for TV fans at least - was the announcement of Dynamite's license for "Grimm." The NBC cops vs. storybook characters show is only just over a season old, but that doesn't mean it isn't time to hop head first into a new medium. Particularly after nearly ubiquitous ads for the show's second season invaded pretty much every comic publisher back in August. We had a chance to chat with Chris Lucero (Director of
Licensing for NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products) over e-mail about the title, and here's what he had to say:

Writer Fred Van Lente is no stranger to zombies. He's been writing the adventures of superpowered brain-eaters for years at Marvel, and now he's coming at things from a decidedly different perspective. In 2013, he'll be launching a new zombie series for Dynamite that focuses on the other side of a zombie apocalypse the pencil pushers who's job it is to maintain order, and quell the outbreak before it spreads. For more, we chatted with Van Lente, and also, found out how we're all going to Broadway: Read More...

Evil Ernie #1 may have just hit stands this week, but writer Jesse Blaze Snider isn't sitting around, twiddling his thumbs, waiting for fans to pick up the latest iteration of the character. We'll find out more about this at New York Comic Con, but here's the big news: Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are heading back to space for a brand new Battlestar Galactica series. As we found out later, it picks up right where Marc Guggenheim's apocalyptic tale left off... But with a DnA twist:

MTV Geek: Just to start off, if you guys love space so much, why don’t you marry it?

DnA: Alex you’re a nut! Read More...

If you thought Dynamite's crime line was done with its big announcements at New York Comic Con, you were wrong: after Garth Ennis' "Red Team," the next big title will be from none other than Andy Diggle:

MTV Geek: Andy, what brings you to Dynamite, and helping launch Dynamite's new crime line?

Andy Diggle: Every time I run into Nick Barrucci at a con we talk about me maybe doing something with Dynamite, and it's always been a question of finding the right project. When he mentioned they were putting together a line of gritty crime books, I jumped at the chance. It's not every day you get the opportunity to build something new from the ground up like this - a smart, hard-hitting crime book for grownups. The kind of book I want to read myself. It's a perfect fit for me.

It's writer Garth Ennis' big news for New York Comic Con, and it got broken early: the prolific writer will be launching Dynamite's new crime line with "Red Team." To find out more, we chatted with Ennis' about the title, as well as the launch of the line:

We'll find out more this week at New York Comic Con, but in advance of the official announcement we chatted with Waid about his take on Britt Reid, Kato, and even the Black Beauty:

MTV Geek: Mark, between Green Hornet, Steed & Peel, and Rocketeer, I feel like you’re turning into “The Olde Timey Reboot” Guy… Are we going to see you tackling The Yellow Kid next?
