Zynga acquires mid-core mobile developer November Software for undisclosed sum

Zynga acquired November Software for an undisclosed amount back in the spring, the firm announced today. A mid-core title called Battlestone is currently in the works at the firm made up of former console game developers from LucasArts and EA, and while there aren’t many details, the team is currently working with the original Mafia Wars developers. Zynga is keeping a bit quite on the project, but to give you an idea of what November Software is capable of, have a look at its previously released title, Golden Arrow, below. Thanks, TechCrunch.

22Cans and Peter Molyneux apologize for Curiosity server issues

22Cans and Peter Molyneux have released a video, apologizing for technical issues with Curiosity: What’s Inside The Cube?. The video explains that the issues stem from server issues caused by a high volume of folks playing the mobile title. The team is working on resolving the issues, with the ultimate goal being users to log on instantaneously and for concurrent users to be able to perform block taps in actual real-time. Watch below.

Xbox SmartGlass now available on iDevice

Microsoft has release the iOS version of Xbox SmartGlass, an app for controlling your console via mobile devices. The free app is universal; grab it on iTunes. SmartGlass went live for PC alongside Windows 8 last week and is also available on Android and Windows Phone devices.

Boulder Dash XL making the jump to iOS

Boulder Dash XL is headed to iDevice. Although the mobile port hasn’t been dated, we’re advised it will cost $3 or regional equivalent and include two playable characters, five modes, four worlds and over 100 caves. Boulder Dash XL arrived on PC and Xbox Live Arcade in July 2011, and hit 3DS earlier this year. As well as all the mainstays of the 1980′s classic, it features new mechanics like telescopic arms and teleporters as well as new kinds of enemy.

Google Play has close to 700,000 apps

Google has announced that its Android store has a significant number of apps available – although just how many is a bit fuzzy. According to Bloomberg, the company claims to have “about 700,000″ apps on Google Play, although this ad for the Nexus notes that there are “more than 675,000″. Apple announced last week that there are over 700,000 apps on its iOS App Store.
